The last time I saw Cade Whitley, I was the curvy, nerdy girl who tutored him in math. He was the popular boy who only saw me as a friend. Now he's the CEO of the competition.

The second we meet again, we start pushing each other's buttons… then end up flirting.

But that has to be a fluke, right? After all, the only things we have in common are a love for the coffee industry and affection for his matchmaking grandmother.

At least, that's what I think.

In high school, I had a crush on him. And it was completely unrequited. I don't want history repeating itself.

Then he kisses me in his office, making my head spin. This is dangerous. He could break my heart again. My boss could find out.

Anytime Jacob Morgan is narrating, count me in. One of my favourite narrators. I would listen to anything he narrates. The book didn’t disappoint, sweet and light, no drama, nothing is dragged. Great for a change especially after a heavy plot listen.

Short and sweet

But, that didn’t stop them from falling in love. Fast and Hard. Cade wanted Meredith all to himself. And Meredith couldn’t say know. Cade knew how to win Meredith’s heart. All things Christmas.

I loved the character of Meredith. She had curves like us real women do. She wasn’t a size 2, and Meredith was happy and confident about herself, and her body. So was Cade. He couldn’t get enough of Meredith.

I definitely recommend this book. I love everything Layla writes. Spencers book is Up Next.

Any time I read a story. The most important part is that it's entertaining this story was. I love seeing the entire family, come in and out and make comets of course on what's happening with the current brother. His story was interesting. Of course, because a childhood romance who doesn't love them getting back together, especially when it was a crush. And of course, who doesn't love Christmas decorating? I fell in love with the female character just for that alone because she is my soul. Back to the story though I think I fell in love with this story because of the female character. She is just me. And the author knows how to keep you going. Putting the little tip for the next book. Right at the end, ha she's not dumb. That's for sure. Makes you wanna go right to the next story, which I am.

very entertaining

Kissing The CEO by Layla Hagen is an easy 4/5 stars for me—this one had chemistry pouring off the pages from the very first reunion scene. The dynamic between Cade and his former tutor-turned-rival is deliciously fun, especially with that mix of unresolved history and present-day competition. Their constant back-and-forth—equal parts teasing, challenging, and flirting—kept things lively, and I loved how their shared passion for the coffee industry gave their connection an extra layer beyond just attraction. And let’s be honest… that office kiss? Absolutely swoon-worthy chaos.

What really made this story stand out, though, was the warmth woven through the family element—especially Grandma, who is clearly out here doing the most (and doing it well). Her matchmaking energy adds charm and humor, and you just know she’s not done playing cupid for the rest of the family. While the storyline leans into familiar romance tropes, the execution feels fresh thanks to the strong chemistry and engaging character dynamics. If you love a rivals-to-lovers vibe with a dash of second-chance tension and a meddling grandma who knows best, this one is definitely worth picking up.
