Jack always wanted to wield magic. His dreams were fulfilled when he absorbed a dungeon core and became a living, walking dungeon.

After a battle with the core of the warlock's tower, Jack and Melinda turn their attention to growing stronger. With the warlock Lachlan Woe to teach them, and the support of Ivan the goblin butler, it seems their path could only go upward.

When rumors of hunters reach their ears, their lives take a turn. These hunters could prove the breaking of Jack and his friends. Thankfully, Jack is a walking dungeon, and there are other dungeons in the outside world with whom he shares a bond.

If these dungeons could be awakened…

Join Jack and the occupants of the warlock's tower for a second adventure that promises to rival their first.

This was an excellent follow up to the first Mage's Path. The story was set at a nice and steady pace to listen to and that there's plenty of problems to go around solving. Also, I like the fact that the action intensifies in the beginning of the book rather than the end. Other than that, happy writing and I'm excited to see what's in store for the next Mage's Path. 5/5

this book like the first is simple in the read easy to comprehend and follow the narrator does a great job. however if you are of an older audience you likely will not enjoy this book all that much. overall it's a good clean story.

great for young teens

I was barely interested enough to download the second book. Both the narrator's female voice impersonation and author's story telling left a lot to be desired. I won't be reading anymore.

ehhh this book series fell off

so I'm going to take a hit off in the beginning because there's a couple things about this story that I don't like that the previous one just didn't have and that's the MC infuriating lack of imagination to common sense problems Great example... he has to rescue two people so instead of doing the sensible thing and having Lachlan come up with an idea he goes to this whole smoke brain idea of trying to kill an ice wraith to fly them across a cavern gap to rescue these people he doesn't even warn them that he's coming and they freak out...🫤 or the fact that the main character just has these fog head ideas sometimes and what I mean by that is he loses concentration at the most inappropriate times... He's in the middle of a rescue mission and he absorbs a monster and he just loses complete focus on anything around him It even mentions in the story that he decided not to use his locate spell because it's supposedly takes too much focus even though up until this point we don't see that being a problem or his inability to mention things until after the fact... he lets things slip his mind way too often that could be super important he has a dream where he encounters this big creepy god character and he just decides to go I'm not going to mention anything 😒 honestly this theme happens so much in the story it's just disappointing.... then the story goes into an entirely ridiculous direction where the MC and his master go out to find the portal in skull guard and they have this big long conversation about not using magic for mundane things The story tries to somehow justify it by saying it's dangerous and by doing so can lead to unintended consequences 😒 The concept is so utterly ridiculous... yeah don't use your cell phone for every little thing You have to do basic calculations in your head because reasons..... it's kind of what this amounts to if you can't use a tool to be a tool then what good is it...
I mean that's what practices for Plus Jack isn't like normal people he's a dungeon his entire existence is built on magic telling him not to use it for mundane things is exactly what a dungeon does...
I mean Lachlan specifically tells Jack that he shouldn't use his power to fly around on his wraiths and use his trolls to carry around things because of unintended consequences but the story explicitly shows.. these aren't summons as in the normal summon creature concept these are actual dungeon created monsters that belong to Jack they're fully under his control there can't be unintended consequences it's like saying your arm rebelled against you because you play too many games 😒 I can't tell you how much this actually frustrates me it's such a ridiculous concept just to avoid a really cool and unique story otherwise...

it's a shame because there are things in the story that make it really good like the character interactions or Jack's interactions with the dungeons on the tower it's actually one of the cooler parts of the story The problem is it's over shadowed by what I mentioned before You also get these just really long chapters of what I call a dazed look in your eyes chapters just constant rambling when there doesn't need to be any... good example he comes out of a dungeon entrance with Melinda to find soldiers guarding the entrance And instead of explaining and just getting on with life It goes into this really long explanation like half the chapter is dedicated to talking about just weird nonsense before we even get to Jack talking to the soldiers from things like sights and sounds to things that Jack's thinking about to the way he feels And then finally thinking about how he's going to respond... it's frustrating to say the least...

or how the timing of the series is so absolutely bonkardly broken my review is too long already but just to let you know the times and dates don't match up from going into the dungeon right as soon as it turns night and no less than 10 to 20 minutes later it's morning again..to spend days to weeks in the frozen north then finally find their way back only to find out that they're pursuers left 10 days ago It just doesn't make any sense

Jack's infuriating personality
