My favorite of all Dick Francis mysteries

Outstanding. With excellent narration. The carefully crafted cast of characters and the intricate mystery make this a most entertaining book.

BY FAR the best Dick Francis

This book was so far and above most other Dick Francis’s novels, which I have been listening to for 30 years, that I almost suspect he had a co- writer. I love Mr. Francis, and do not accuse him of anything but fantastic books, but this book exceeded all previous publications ..in my opinion. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Classic Dick Francis!

One of my fave Francis novels, with his signature style of bringing to life a character with a unique/interesting background, tying them into the horse racing world, and concluding with a plot twist you never see coming!
Pretty good narration style.

Penetrating

Francis stays on the margins of racing in this one, but places his character dead center in the middle of a slightly strange and intriguing family, where the heroes role is to save

Not much to dislike. Decent people getting caught up etc. final resolutions are never as satisfying as you would hope but this as close as they come. Rest in peace, Dick. You done good! Again….
