Refreshingly Christian Mysteries

The mysteries were shorter than I realized they were going to be. However, each one was unique and well plotted out. I loved the generosity shown by each of the characters and their caring nature. The romance was so sweet between certain characters that I really enjoyed the cherishing Christian qualities. I immediately looked for more Donna Doyle audiobooks to purchase!

The stories are easy to listen to. Enjoyed them while I worked. I would recommend this series.

loveable characters

Wish the books were longer. I didn't except to like these books so much. Most of the time when the books are short you don't get enough time with the characters to become endearing. The story line flowed from one book to the next easily. Ending of the last book made me cry, I didn't expect that. Wish there were more books, it would be fun to see what mischief Lily and Blake could get into together. A honeymoon capper would have been fun!

Great series

I love the series of short stories. Characters are all lovable. Narration was excellent. Look forward to reading more by this author.

Voice over actor was wonderful

The first several of the books were okay. They got better over time but still very predictable.

An average story that is good for passing the time.

I really appreciated the main characters continuous desire to grow from beginning to end however, I felt like she herself lacked so much depth and constantly second-guess herself. It appeared that once she rediscovered her faith, she continuously made awkward references to Jesus as her Lord and Savior. The whole thing felt so dry and robotic. It just wasn’t naturally woven in to the story. For one to have faith is wonderful but the way that it’s been written into these stories is really not helping the story line for someone like myself who is open and has faith but is a also looking for characters that have more depth.As a reader I’m going to fall in love with them if they possess these qualities.

I’m not looking for someone that constantly makes poor choices and wants the whole world to just fall over backwards with empathy for this person. I just can’t understand that. I think this is a series is a good launching point and I look forward to the other stories, but my feedback would be to reassess how you utilize and apply faith and Christianity into the text And just add some more humanity to the character and humanity does not have to mean more flawed, but it can be someone that becomes stronger and relies on oneself and is able to see the joy in things versus the negative things despite the trauma that they’ve experienced.

Solid Series

This is a quick audio series. I enjoyed the characters, story development and the narrator.

Less than Cozy.

Immature writing. A high school writing project? Even at a 12 in 1 at the cost of audible books this one should have been a free be or better yet not published. The words of the author do not coincide with the actions taking place. There is a constant reiteration of a kind of "brilliance and decency" nothing taking place quantifies this. The main character is less than extraordinary but gets verbiage galore stating she is. The author has the main character turn religion then political which does nothing except add a cringe factor on-top of the lacking story and characters. I guess the young nazis were just fighting for their country not partaking in genocide and are equal to the English soldiers whose country was invaded? Story line is beyond underwhelming and the love story is weirdly not seductive.
I usually try to give 5 stars but after 11 books I just couldn't make it through the last. I figure the books will likely get more reads since people who read this will be wondering what I'm getting on about. Hoping the authors next go will be more thoughtful.

Disappointed

I’ll like the cozy mysteries. They’re easy to listen to and enjoyable. This heroine is very annoying though. Apparently being a mystery writer gives you “training” in detective work and allows you to insert yourself into any situation. Lily is very judgemental regarding a profession she has had no exposure to. I’ll finish the books but I won’t be getting any more from this author.

The reader was great. The stories were not believable.

I really like the reader she was fun to listen to made the stories worth listening to. But as far as the storylines themselves go, I don’t know what I was supposed to be listening to, but they weren’t murder she wrote and they weren’t cozy. they were really bad or maybe first level Read throws if someone’s idea of a cozy.
