Enthralling Story!

Another outstanding installment in the Roy Grace series. Excellent performance by the reader. No spoilers but tissue alert...you might need a few.

The Best of the DEAD.....

I have listened to eight of Peter James' "DEAD" books with the infamous Detective Superintendent Roy Grace.

After listening to this audiobook, LEFT YOU DEAD is now my favorite title of this series.

The book was fast-paced and impossible to put down, with no shortage of exciting and compelling twists and turns.

LEFT YOUR DEAD is book 17 and I am proud to report that talented (and prolific!) author Peter James has not lost his mojo.

Daniel Weyman did a superb job with the narration.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Peter James is now working on Book 18.

Tangled web

Starts off slow, but once more details are added, things get very interesting.
Some common sense would have come in handy for the one who thinks they are so clever. Captivating mystery, but definitely Not a thriller.

Welcome back, Peter!

After two sub par stories, I was delighted to listen to this excellent new edition. Although a couple of parts could be deemed ‘unbelievable’, it is a great work of fiction and I couldn’t wait to get back to it every time I put it down.
There seemed to be a mistake in the dates (funeral scheduled for Monday the 13th September which couldn’t have been I think it should have been 30th) but overall a great listen and enjoyable story, like the good old days! Well done, Peter.

WOW, quite suspenseful

This was a well written book and I really liked some of the characters.
It did keep you listening so you could find out how the crime was solved

Left You Dead

Decided I wanted a good book, so got the latest Roy Grace book, so glad I did, now to catch up, I can go backwards. This book I thoroughly enjoyed, the murders characters are fantastic. The narration has caught the characters perfectly.

I loved this book one of the best. Roy grace is awesome the perfect gentleman. There were some very sad moment that brought tears but it’s a great read. I love audible I listen to work and back and Peter James makes travelling a pleasure.

When it wasn't boring, it was infuriating

Don't tell the reader most of what happened upfront, then make them sit through hours of the cops bungling through theories...it's like torture by way of Mr. Bean...only without any humor.

There were interesting moments concerning Bruno, but it kind of went nowhere and felt more like a device construed to develop our perception of the main character than anything germane to the story itself. I'd thought that bit about the couple test-driving the car was going to turn out to be the missing woman and her new lover, but the whole thing was kind of a red herring and a waste of time to go into such ridiculous detail about an event so adjacent to the plot. Clumsy.
