Resumen del Editor

This landmark book from an expert in dignity studies explores the essential but under-recognized role of dignity as part of good leadership. Extending the reach of her award-winning book Dignity: Its Essential Role in Resolving Conflict, Donna Hicks now contributes a specific, practical guide to achieving a culture of dignity.

Most people know very little about dignity, the author has found, and when leaders fail to respect the dignity of others, conflict and distrust ensue. She highlights three components of leading with dignity: what one must know in order to honor dignity and avoid violating it; what one must do to lead with dignity; and how one can create a culture of dignity in any organization, whether corporate, religious, governmental, health care, or beyond. Brimming with key research findings, real-life case studies, and workable recommendations, this book fills an important gap in our understanding of how best to be together in a conflict-ridden world.

Critical for strengthening our communities

I liked the writing of this book. Made the content approachable and easy to understand.

“We may not be of the same status, but we are all equal in dignity.”

Appreciated how it ties dignity being validated or empowered in childhood as a critical personality Property that can be subconscious.

Foundational Principles for Meaningful Leadership

This book put perfectly into words and into a framework the humanistic approach and philosophy I have toward leadership more than any other book I have read has. We need more leaders who view their organizations for what they really are an integral part of every person in that organization’s life.

If you’re interested in a frame for creating a purposeful and meaningful work environment for all this is the book for you.

Dignity is a powerful concept

This book was fabulous. It resonated deeply with me and caused me to think about how I move in the world and how a workplace could be improved if we all lead with dignity.

Great frame for discussing leadership

Great frame for discussing Christian leadership development without naming God. I was initially intrigued by the authors premise while listening to her lecture recently. The work done is impressive.

Who knew? DIGNITY

I had studied several of the aspect brought together under the umbrella of dignity. I think Dr Hicks does a great job of connecting dignity with authenticity, purpose, inclusion and sincerity.
The “three Cs” are a great to think about the ingredients required to engage a team. I will employ some of these techniques in my workplace culture.
Sarah Zimmerman always does a great job engaging the listener.

Steaming pile of woke excrement

This is this first book in a LONG time that I truly couldn’t finish. I got over a fifth of the way through it and she was STILL explaining what dignity is and how “marginalized” people frequently suffer attacks against their dignity. I got this book to get some insight on better leadership for my company....but this is a complete waste of time. Absolute garbage. I’m offended that this idiot even wrote a book. I’m offended. I feel personally attacked in my dignity, I need to talk to HR, and I need to sit in a safe place and cry. #staywoke
