Later Gator is book 9 in the Miss Fortune Mystery series. This series is set in Sinful, Louisiana, USA and follows Fortune, who is a CIA assassin in hiding, and old ladies Gertie and Ida Belle, who are lifelong Sinful residents and ex-spy war veterans, as they help solve a string of various crimes and murders.
I stumbled across these books when I decided to check out a new-to-me genre called Cozy Mysteries and someone recommended this series. Once I listened to the first book, I couldn't stop. I have been listening to all of the books back to back.
In Later Gator, someone has been poaching alligators and has set a local boy up to take the fall. Fortune and her crew decide to jump in to do a little investigating when they find out the boy has been arrested. They all know that someone set him up and they won't stand for it. Also, Fortune and Ida Belle discover that Gertie has a pet alligator named Godzilla. And thanks to Gertie and her ridiculous antics, Godzilla has a taste for baked goods.
I recommend this series and suggest that you read each book in order as it builds upon the prior story and makes everything that much more entertaining and enjoyable. If you like your books with a nice dose of humor, this is the series for you. I have found myself laughing out loud too many times to count.
The narrator does a good job. She is the same narrator for the whole series.

Later Gator audio
Very entertaining and fun listening to.my husband and I both enjoyed and laughed at the antics. I feel some of the characters were written in as being totally clueless or unnaturally Niamey considering.but, I will definitely listen to again and to any one wanting to laugh and snicker/chuckles❣️💃🏻💆🏻♀️🙀😆

Wonderful Story
Love this series!!!! Only thing about this audible is the voices for Ida Bell and Gertie sometimes got confused. But that did not detract from the fun happening in Sinful❤️❤️❤️

Fall in love
I love this whole series but this is one I laughed out loud with
I haven’t often thought I’m gone to jump to the end books so I can see the happy ending but the series is great

A Gator By the Tail
Celia Arceneaux is still terrorizing the town as the mayor. And a poacher is on the lose in the swamp. Small alligators are being killed just for their tails. Then Gertie’s nephew is arrested for the poaching and Carter has to put him in jail. Time for Swamp Team 3. Great characters with laugh out loud antics. Great narration.

Love this whole fun series!!
Gertie fears her wild pet alligator, Godzilla, will be killed as poachers are killing alligators in Sinful, LA. An impossible suspect, Petey, is blamed and his father Quincy is desperate for Swamp team 3 to find the real culprit. Fortune & co, investigate even though Deputy Carter LeBlanc (also Fortune's love interest) wants them to stay out of police business. Meanwhile, evil Celia Arceneaux, the current mayor awaiting a vote re-count, wants to get rid of Swamp Team 3, Carter, & especially Fortune. We get an exciting & hilarious trip to the Swamp Bar & meet many colorful characters. Love this series so much, as it's a fun & exciting escape!!!

Oh Gertie
If you've made it this far into Miss Fortune Mysteries, you know how amazing and exasperating Gertie can be but this adventure just takes the cake though. Funny, sweet, and action packed as only Sinful can be - I absolutely devoured this book and I know I'll reread them again one day.
This includes a visit to the swamp bar, more sinful secrets, car cashes and some one ends up in the water.... but that could be almost any of these zany stories.
