Poker players should enjoy this.

I'm a big fan of two of Jana DeLeon's series, Miss Fortune and Shaye Archer, and have read some of her other standalones. Unlucky is one of those and I'm sorry to say I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as the others. First of all, there was far too much poker talk and I'm not a card player so it was all over my head.

The other problem I had with it was the paranormal aspect. I'm just not a fan of that genre.

Overall, it was a decent summertime listen, just not up to her standard.

Awesome read

Loved the story. Enjoyed all of the author’s writing. She just can’t write fast enough.

Not up to my expectations

I’m was disappointed in the story as whole. The lead characters were bland not interesting

Convoluted plot

I stopped trying to follow the plot a little way in. I only finished it because I usually finish books I start.

Good title

Enjoyed the Miss Fortune Series after her Wrong Side of 40 book sucked me in with its humor. This book had me struggling to finish. The reader’s accent is awful and the story just missed the sparkle I expected from Jana DeLeon’s writing.
Will return to Miss Fortune Series for a third read and hope for future additions.
