Potential for more

I enjoy all these characters but I don’t like how in this book Kain was shown as a bad brother even though in the first book it seemed as if both he and Artemis were close siblings… and I confess I want more of Vlad and Kain

Really did not like Artemis as a character

this book really didn't feel like it belonged to the series. It had a lot of important events that the previous books were leading up to which were done well, but it felt like Artemis had no other character traits other than "I'm mad at/hate my brothers and I love my boyfriend".
The way she was described in the other books made her out to be a more complex and interesting character especially with the deep plot points that set up her story in book 1. In this book she came off as self absorbed and borderline heartless. She didn't even feel concerned or worried about what happened to Kain.
Anyway it was a struggle to get through this one because it seemed like every chapter needed at least one "I'm mad at my brother's" rant and she never had any character development. The narrator also seemed to struggle with the accents and the ML accent waffled so heavily that I'm not sure what the accent was supposed to be (gonna have to re listen to book one to remember)
