Acerca de esta escucha
Ren has a problem, and it’s not his heroin addiction.
Or that he’s wanted for murdering his step-father.
He’s being haunted by something far worse than the ghost of his dead sister.
When he hitches a ride with Lefty, Jersey, and Geena, a group of itinerant addicts on the run from their own problems, he starts to believe maybe things are looking up.
But there’s something wrong with Lefty. Something unnatural.
Something that wants to see them all dead.
Can Ren stop it in time, or will he end up torn apart on the side of the highway?
Or worse?

Historia
After a bizarre and disturbing incident at the funeral of matriarch Marian Savage, the McCray and Savage families look forward to a restful and relaxing summer at Beldame, on Alabama's Gulf Coast, where three Victorian houses loom over the shimmering beach. Two of the houses are habitable, while the third is slowly and mysteriously being buried beneath an enormous dune of blindingly white sand. But though long uninhabited, the third house is not empty.

Reseñas de la Crítica
"It Eats Your Hunger is the kind of horror that takes up residence in your soul. It's Hunter S. Thompson, It's Kerouac, and it's Straub. It's shocking that this is Joseph's debut novel. Many of the most seasoned writers couldn't pull off the level of raw grit and honest, saw-tooth prose this book punches with." -Gage Greenwood, Author of On A Clear Day, You Can See Block Island

Deep and emotional!!
It Eats Your Hunger by Joseph Murnane
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is a deep and dark grief/psychological horror book. This story deals with addiction, grief, loss and pain.
Ren is on a difficult life path, after dealing with the loss of his sister and trying to figure out what’s next for himself. Ren struggles with a journey of self destruction and dealing with lots of demons. This is an emotional and beautifully written story! It’s a fast read and kept me engaged the entire time!
This is the authors debut novel and all I can say is wow!!!
Thank you to Joseph Murnane for an audio copy of this amazing and deeply felt book! The narrator was excellent as well!
*The book is out now and is a must read!*

Easy Five Stars!
This is one of those rare horror books that transcends mere entertainment (though don't get me wrong, I was wildly entertained!) and becomes a work of literary art. The prose is breathtaking, the characters come alive and leap off the page, and the story is fresh and original.
It Eats Your Hunger is a book about the darkness that lives deep inside us all. The fight we all have to get up off the mat and keep fighting every single day. It is dark and gritty and depressing at times, yet profoundly beautiful in that way that dark, gritty things can be when they're explored by a clear master of the craft like Mr. Polinger.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator for this story was equally fantastic. Whatever format you choose to enjoy it in, though, I simply cannot recommend this book enough. It's one that I already know is going to stick with me for a long time to come.

Grief Horror at its best!
This book will definitely live in my mind for a long, long time! Ren is a young boy when his sister dies, leaving him with an abusive family and tons of remorse. He is drawn into the world of addiction and things go downhill fast. The book gives a gruesome and detailed look into addiction, mixed with plenty of horror. You have ghosts, mysterious phone calls and encounters, descriptions of life as a vagrant/addict and just enough hope and redemption to save the day! The sibling relationships and the love that keeps that relationship alive, even in the face of horrific events, is well-written and heartbreaking.
The descriptions of the evil entity in this one will stay with me for a while. There are plenty of scenes of horror without going too far into the extreme. The author has done a wonderful job in character development and describing the horrors of addiction, along with the supernatural horrors at work.
This is a debut novel, but it reads like something written by a seasoned author. This guy definitely has talent and I will be looking forward to his next book. The narration is great and adds a lot to the story. Perfect pacing and perfect voices really make this a 5 star listen!

Captivating from start to finish...
This was an excellent read with amazing detail. It is hard to believe this is Joseph's first book. His ability to take us on a journey about addiction and what it entails, while mixing it up with life struggles and horror was astounding. I was able to relate to this story personally as I am a recovering alcoholic/addict. It took me back to a life I never wish to visit again and made me appreciate where I am today. I will be purchasing this book so that I can read it again and place it in my personal library. I can't wait to see if there will be more from this author in the future.
