This is Hobby Lobby right?

A super fun survival horror book that makes fun of all the right things for me. I truly enjoyed this adventure and I hope everyone else reads this enjoys it as well

hilarious and gory

The story is both totally believeable and ridiculously over the top. Loved the creative use of crafting supplies to create mayhem.

Love conquers all

I was on my toes the whole ride, loved the story. This could literally be a movie and I’d watch to the end.

Unfortunately very "meh"

The premise of the book sounded fun so I wanted to like this book. Unfortunately I very much did not. It needed a lot more editing and help. Really bloated with fluff, like every single thing that happens is repeated 3 or 4 different ways trying to be poetic, way too flashbacks with not enough of the story in the present moment, nonsense long monologs, and unlikeable paper thin characters that didnt feel like actual people. I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a comedic horror, but if so it failed in that too. It just didn't have any funny moments. It relies on its overly descriptive gory moments for shock value but gets repeative quick. This could have easily been a novella in my opinion.

Over the top

This was an exhausting listen. A good overall story idea, but way over the top in more ways than one. The narrator was overly emotive with every single word. I thought it would be a better read than listen, until I heard the very gory pieces that are more descriptive than the visuals of most horror films. And the repetitiveness of certain details is also exhausting. If I had the patience I would go back and listen to the amount of times the mice are mentioned. It felt like an inordinate amount of time describing the scene(s) with the mice. And I know this is fiction, and without spoiling it too much, the amount of murders and sheer repeated luck in such a short period of time by individuals with no fighting skills is beyond the stretch of the imagination.

Long winded, exhaustive listen

This was so repetitive and long winded. Not to mention it all takes place in either overheard conversations or flashbacks. It was incredibly boring. And didn’t feel like true horror.
