very good story and narrating. quality true crime

this book was well written. the narrating was full of expression and was entertaining. some very graphic violence.

One of the best!

There be monsters out there. This is the story of one of worst. But trumping all are those who were robbed of life.

I enjoyed this book very much. All the pertinent information was given and it was kept interesting.

Truly a sick man

Another example of poor legal and health system as a total psychopath is mishandled and innocent children die because of a failed system with no one held responsible.

interesting story

I enjoyed this. I feel most intrigued over the type of investigation in the 70's versus now. if it weren't for that there would have been very little content for this book. Charles Hatcher was no doubt evil.

Satisfying in the end.

It’s unfortunate that our system is so inadequate and that our society is so gullible.

A new one for me

As a true crime buff & someone intensly interested in the psychology of criminals, I was surprised to find one that I had never even heard anything at all about. It's not for the sensitive listener & had to stop a few times, take a break from the evil & cry for the sweet little victims. Such tragic happenings and just when you think you've heard the worst about people...

The book covered a lot of ground. It was about the crimes and the monster behind them, and the victims on the periphery of the actual acts of violence. On top of all of that, there was the story of the criminal justice system and the various aspects of the entire criminal system.

This was a lot in one book but so well done. The narrator was good - maybe a little whiny-sounding when voicing a couple of the people involved, but still he did a good job.

Really, though, be warned that this is a difficult one to hear about.

He was selfish till the end, wouldn’t talk about his other victims because no one would remember them?! Made my blood boil

Interesting… bad narrator

When the reader sounds like he’s just casually talking about a walk in the park rather than a horrendous kidnapping and murder, the story loses all value. This reader sounds like a psychopath getting a thrill out of a child’s kidnapping.
