Awesome reader!

I really enjoyed the reader for this book and also the other Suzy Spencer book. Her voice is great and I could listen all day! Good true crime story as well.

Don’t pay for this

Bad narrator and a tedious retelling of an awful crime.

You could save yourself some time and just read the interview and court transcripts.

This book didn’t work for me

I started this book with the hope of gaining insight into a significant case, but unfortunately the delivery didn’t work for me. The subject matter is serious and had the potential to be compelling, yet the presentation often felt more like a screenplay, weighed down by repetitive “he said, she said” dialogue.

The audiobook narration also pulled me out of the story. The narrator’s attempts to shift voices for different speakers came across as distracting rather than immersive.

With around five hours left, I decided to stop listening. There are many true crime books that manage to treat difficult stories with both depth and engaging storytelling. This one, sadly, didn’t connect with me in that way.
