Resumen del Editor

In this thought-provoking audiobook, Tobias Leenaert leaves well-trodden animal advocacy paths and takes a fresh look at the strategies, objectives, and communication of the vegan and animal rights movement. He argues that given our present situation, with entire societies dependent on using animals, we need a very pragmatic approach. How to Create a Vegan World contains many valuable ideas and insights for both budding advocates for animals and seasoned activists, organizational leaders, and even entrepreneurs.

Great help in guiding me in how to be a more effective advocate

Just finished this book at thought I’d recommend it, especially for those interested in advocating for a more compassionate world and wanting to find ways to be more effective in doing so. The author goes through the implications of a moralistic and idealistic approach towards vegan advocacy vs one that is more pragmatic, with a reductionism approach.

These are issues that have been concerning me, as I have been becoming a bit too moralistic and judgemental, which has resulted in allowing negative feelings to creep up too often, and I also wanted some insights into how to be a more effective advocate for the reduction of exploitation of animals in the world.

I like the idea that being a vegan need not just limited to a “...way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals..”, but can be more ambitious in that the way we live and behave should also result in a larger reduction in animal exploitation and cruelty - i.e. through the impact we have on others.

After all, I feel being vegan is not an end in itself, but rather should be viewed as a means to an end, the end being a world without unnecessary suffering of all beings (especially animals ,since they are the ones that need the most help)

revolutionary ideas for the vegan movement.

Every vegan needs to have this playbook in their toolbox.
it's also a good listen for non vegans.

Amazing must read

All vegans need to read this to realign their strategies and attitudes to bring about more change. I will definitely need to read this again, will probably buy a hard copy so I can highlight the heck out of it. Great narration too!

Inspirational!

This book has some great ideas about being more pragmatic when it comes to veganism. I learned a lot of useful information that I can apply to my activism for animals, people, and the planet.

We can do this!

This is a feel-good book for vegans...and I mean that in a good way. Instead of all the horrific facts we all know about, this audiobook lays out victories, how we can keep winning and hit it right out of the park. I think Tobias needs some bodyguards because this guy is Meat Industry ENEMY #1. Veganism is about to avalanche...if people just follow his lead, and the slaughterhouses of hell are going to be losing some serious money.

Get this audiobook. This is like our Art of War by Sun Tzu.

Hope for Animals

Tobias has written something much different than what we typically find in vegan material. For him, it's about understanding how immoral meat consumption is, but also realizing the difficulty in getting others to comprehend the insanity of what they're putting into their mouth. Tobias' book is a much needed "pause" that gives us time to reflect on why so many people still "just don't get it." His detractors have claimed that he just wants people to reduce meat consumption, or that he wants to lump vegans in with "reduce-tarians," but that isn't at all his position. Tobias has a strategy to draw people closer to our message, and to do so in such way that they'll actually be able to open their eyes and ears to the beauty of what veganism is all about. Few men have done such a service to veganism in a very long time.

The Ultimate Battle Plan for Animal Liberation

I've been very out of touch with vegan activism for years. I went vegan, read a few books, did a little activism and then got burned out. I realized that many forms of vegan activism annoy more people than they awaken. Veganism is ethically sound, and makes so much sense environmentally, as well as from a health standpoint, and yet a lot of vegans come off as pushy snobs who think they're morally superior to everyone else.

I lost my belief that my clique is better than your clique soon after high school, but many vegans want to hold on to that belief. Honestly, I particularly don't care if our vegan clique is better than everyone else's if it's so busy patting itself on the back that its accomplishments move at a snail's pace.

Leenaert has a real strategy to quicken the liberation of our non-human friends. There is a way to expand our ranks without increasing the amount of people who roll their eyes and sigh, "Oh God, get ready for another vegan sermon," when we announce at the table that we're vegan. I don't see how anyone can possibly argue with Leenaert's overall strategy...except those who have never actually taken the time to read [or listen to] his book (you know who you are...those vegans who would rather keep their nose in the air than to look at the real studies, and the real math, on what strategies actually work to decrease the amount of animal suffering).

Gold

I never heard of this guy, but then again, I'm a pretty quiet vegan whose not knee-deep in the so-called movement because (like the other reviewer mentioned) I can't stand most vegans. I'm going to make this quick because I have to get back to watching the market, but as an investor I think there's a huge takeaway here: plant-based diets are the future and meat is going down. Eventually you're going to see diary and meat companies' stocks tank and you'll want your put options. I'll remember the name Tobias Leenaert when I make a fortune off of the cataclysmic end to people chomping on dead animal flesh and calling it breakfast, lunch and dinner. Perhaps we need a "plant-based business investments" online magazine in light out what Leenaert brings to light in his book. Great author, great narrator, five stars.
