DUET

This was as advertised, a short sexy vampire story and I loved it! The narrators were good, I wasn’t sure at first but they were perfect for the parts and I had a great time listening to it.

Hot and fun!

I absolutely loved this! It was short, fun and hot!
I have no complaints at all except that I wanted it to be longer, haha. It was soo good!

It's narrated in duet narration which was a wonderful surprise!
This is the first time I've heard Maxim Reston narrate something but I hope he narrates more books because I loved him in this! He did amazing. As did Nina, as always!

What a scrumptious read!

If you were hoping to find absolutely heart gripping, feet kicking banter between a deeply witty and equally unsure FMC desperately trying to manage the absolutely unhinged situation of a down bad Slayer with amnesia MMC living on her sofa looking at her like she is the actual sun, you have found the right book.

Ali yet again turns a phrase again and again making you giggle, and smirk, and swoon, and want to bash these two together like Barbie dolls. He’s ooey gooey and she’s a very slowly melting iceberg, and their collision is absolutely delicious. It’s an enemies to lovers golden retriever/skittish cat lovers dream. Prepare to scream CAVE IN CAVE IN frantically at your phone because I sure as hell did, proudly. This was such a fantastic opposites attract rom com romp that was equal parts heartfelt, hilarious and deeply romantic.

I am always amazed how Ali creates such in depth plots, such soul deep yearning and tension in such small moments making even a novella this short gripping and beautifully expansive somehow. All I can ask for is a lifetime of their stories because I will take it all, every single day of them! The pacing and reveals are perfectly placed to keep you on the edge of your seat of deliciously agonizing will they won’t they. Ali knows how to write a man who YEARNS and YEARNS bad and Laslo is here to join the ranks of her most hand clenching MMCs. The spice? It is tension snapping and giving us the raw realistic honest details we have come to expect from Ali and she knew when the right moment was to give it to us. It’s all wrapped up in such a lovely retrospective that leaves you wistfully thinking about their story in the expanse. What a fantastic way to deliver the love story of immortals! Bravo Ali!

Narration:

The comedic timing is flawless with both of the narrators and they both perfectly fit their characters. It listens like a play with both narrators perfectly sunk into their characters and the story like they’ve lived in their characters skins. Their voices dance off each other in a perfectly timed dance showcasing why audiobooks are a spectacularly singular experience. They brought Laso and Ethel to bursting life and cement them firmly in your brain as tangible, real people you can screech over. This is a must listen with audio!

This was such a cute welcome-to-fall read! Love all Ali writes and this was not exception. I could feel Aethel and Lazlo's attraction and was happy to follow them and see it unravel.

This story is simply Ali at her best - full of longing, spice, and greatness.
I’m already a fan of her work, but this was actually my very first audiobook - and what an experience! It really adds a whole new layer to the story.

Great story with the perfect narrators

I enjoyed this book a lot. I think the narrator’s voicing Lazlo and Ethel were a perfect fit. Highly recommend listening and reading at the same time, definitely enhances the experience.

Vampire and Slayer Love Match

The story was cute. It wasn’t my favorite, but I do really enjoy listening and reading anything Aly Hazelwood. I also love that it was a duet, even though it was a short novella. I think the performers did a really good job.

This was such a neat concept! I love vampire stories and this one didn’t disappoint. Even though it was quick, it was a complete story! Loved it!

Slayer vs. Vamp romance

this was quick, cute romance between a slayer and a vampire. once you get over the semi-creepiness of a slayer obsessing over a vampire for however many years it's kind of sweet. a good listen. would recommend
