Sweet book

Was a cute book but not very spicy like her other books are. Still a good read though.

Fell in love with Vincent!

I loved The Striker and the enemies to friends relationship between Asher and Vincent, in the first book. But, because of Vincent’s hatred towards Asher for most of the book, I often found Vincent off-putting. Well, that totally changed with The Defender. Now, I love Vincent and how fiercely he loved and took care of Brooklyn. Because I was’t Vincent’s biggest fan throughout the course of the first book, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I’ve had this book since it came out, but just finally read it. Needless to say, I was not disappointed in the least. I’m just sad I didn’t read it sooner. And I can’t wait to see what Noah and Carina get up to in the next book!

Spicy

The spicy scenes were amazing, I think the best she has written so far.
Great story line. I was guessing the stalker throughout the whole story.

10/10 audiobook was top tier.

I ate this book up! The amount that I adore this book is unhinged. I was taken from the beginning because of excellent characters with depth and realness, swoony romantic moments, and tight plotting with a compelling danger is lurking element. You have men that are yearning for their women but sometimes don't realize until late.... but once they do they strive to make it right.
This book is in dual perspective where it really shines because we simultaneously get to see our heroine Brooklyn hoping to see him react to her presence, but unsure if he's affected, and simultaneously hear his inner dialogue going crazy with wanting to be near her, to smell her perfume, and brush his hand against the curve of her neck. I was literally hanging on every moment between these too. I will for sure always be picking up any book that Ana Huang writes.

The audiobook was narrated in duet style by James Cavenaugh and Samantha Brentmoor... 10/10 in narration. I was taking from the beginning. They brough their characters to life and then they took it even further and just brought it. Everything you want- tension, chemistry and angst was brought. PERFECTION!

If you like contemporary romance with a sports tie and some spice this is for you. 5/5!!!

Vincent may not be my favorite man in the Huangverse (Dante Russo girlie for life) but man if he isn't in my top 10 already.

Next year I'll have to do a reread of all of her works before King of Gluttony comes out to see where he ranks again. But for now, he's at a solid 6 🙂‍↕️
