Highly recommend this book! The author compares the the English and Western riding techniques in a very informative way. I found the safety information to be the most important: how to behave around the horse and while riding. This book is a must have if you're interested in learning to ride.

The book is written with beginners in mind and whilst in depth in places it is still easy to understand and provides an insight into all areas of Horseback Riding from what to wear, how to act around horses and other equestrians to the tack used and so much more

Excellent beginning horseback riding book!

This superb listen covers all things beginning horseback riding from owning your horse to providing your safety. There are many responsibilities to owning and riding a horse, but this book makes it interesting and fun. I wanted to get on horseback and get going after listening to this. Loved the part about the horse's many gaits as well. Feel confident in knowing that all aspects of horseback riding are covered. A must listen. Highly recommended for anyone interested in this activity.

A fantastic read for anyone interested in horseback riding instruction.

The book provides insight into many aspects of horseback riding, including what to wear, how to behave around horses and other equestrians, the tack used, and much more. It is designed with novices in mind and, despite being in-depth in some sections, is still simple to grasp.

I found the author's comparison of the various similarities and distinctions between the English and Western riding techniques to be extremely interesting. There is also a fantastic chapter on horse safety, which is of the utmost importance. This book should absolutely be on your reading list if you're interested in horses in general or learning to ride a horse.

Very good listen for anyone new to horseback ridin

This is a great listen for anyone who is interested in learning how to ride horses. I'm a complete newbie who has typically been a little afraid of horses, but I do want to learn. This is written in a way that is helpful for beginners, but goes deep on the things that seem to really matter when learning. Specifically, I appreciate the fact that the author gives details about little things like how to approach a horse and what to wear - these are some of the things that I worried about :)
