It was a little predictable and unoriginal. I wasn’t a fan of the female narrator.

Enjoyable and worth getting, but not life-changing

It's worth a credit. Admittedly, my expectations may have been a little high because I enjoyed Sager's other books so much. This one was good... but would definitely rank below Final Girls and Lock Every Door, for me. I think the supernatural/haunted house theme is just really hard to pull off successfully nowadays. Other than that, no complaints.

I had no issues with the narration.

Dark and Twisty

So many twists and turns told in a haunTINGLY good way. This is my first Sager novel and I am beyond pleased. My book club chose it as our October/Halloween read. Can't wait to discuss it with them.

Excellent book!

Great thriller/ghost story. I thought the narrators were excellent, particularly Jon Lindstrom. Book definitely gave me some chills - I could not put it down!

Story within a story.

Loved it. Well written and very enjoyable. Good ghost story. Picked a good one for Halloween.

Loved It!

I listened to this book on Audible and I seriously never wanted to stop. I love how it went from the dad’s story to the daughters story every other chapter and with the two different readers it was very enjoyable to listen to.
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed his style of writing. Unbeknownst to me I purchased another one of his books for BOTM and I am reading it now (The Last Time I Lied) and I can tell his style is the same.
I thought the storyline was good and had lots of twists that I didn’t see coming. It even kept my eight year old interested.
In the end it wasn’t much of a ghost story, but it definitely had its spooky parts. I would definitely recommend this book. I would imagine it reads as fast as I listened to it.

Did not guess that coming!

I had my guesses along the way, but I was wrong, kept me guessing. Just what I want out of a mystery, plus an old house.

I feel like I haven't been this enamored with a place since The Overlook.

Truly a fabulous novel. I highly recommend.
