A Man and his dog!

Colt lives in a log cabin in Missouri and rents out parts of his wilderness retreat. When Nova comes to stay with him for a couple of weeks from Las Vegas, life for them both is about to turn around! Kelli Walker has written this story with a little of everything. We have opposites attract, as Colt and Nova come from completely different backgrounds. There is a stalkerish vibe creating some suspense and action as well as passion and self realization. I really enjoyed the story and getting to know Colt and Nova, and Colt's dog Bo! He is a sweetie! With beautiful visual writing, Walker takes us through the cabin and surrounding area and makes the story come alive.

Daniel James Lewis does a good job narrating. I found him to be animated and have a lot of expression as he performed. The dual point of view let us know who was speaking, though at times, I found his female voice not as easy to distinguish. His pacing is perfect and he made the story a lot of fun with his style.

DON’T LET THE PAST RUIN YOUR PRESENT OR FUTURE

I rated this story 3.5 stars. Nova Kingsley, an author, and Colt McCormick, a Midwest cabin resort owner, find their lives intertwined and learn that their pasts don’t dictate their futures. There are many decisions to be made as to how a relationship would work. I was amazed at how quickly their relationship advanced. I don’t think enough was mentioned about Nova’s past to help the book progress the way it did.

The narration was better than some of the others I’ve listened to. There were some inflections for the women, but they were lost or forgotten as the story went on. I loved the fact that he did do justice to the men’s voices.

Fun Story!

This was my first Kelli Walker's book. This is a short, sweet, fun and sexy story. Nova and Colt share an instant attraction, and a great chemistry. I love their happy ending. The narration is well done. Daniel James Lewis has a great voice, but the characters aren't always easy to distinguish.

A good mountain man romance

Overall I liked this book, the audio performance okay.
If one is reading the book and the audio simultaneously there were several deviations (6 major and just over 90 minor) from the printed book, many of them did not detract from the overall story and would not be noticed otherwise; however, all of the major deviations were noticeable and drew me out of the narrative.

Story content review:

Nova, a romance writer, meets Colt, a small town retreat owner, when she arrives for her working vacation in one of his cabins. As the story progresses inspiration strikes, fantasy and reality blur, and failing to distinguish between the two could derail their burgeoning relationship. Kelli Walker did a good job telling this story. The only thing that I thought that could have taken place and made the story better was a more realistic antagonist interaction. That is my opinion and not a reflection of her overall writing style, more supporting character development related than anything else. I will definitely be reading more from her in the future

His Big log Cabin is interesting and has some complicated heat. i would say check it out !!

Fun story line

I really enjoyed the story line. Big city girl meets county boy and how will they work. Personal preference but I have a hard time with a single gender doing both male and female voices. But a fun listen;)

it was paced out very well and good story line . the only thing i was unsure about was it being a guy narrating but an over all good book to listen too

Hello hottie, I love this audiobook from beginning to end. The narrator did a phenomenal job. They portrayed the character's feelings perfectly and you felt every emotion down to your toes.

Great Storyline

Great Storyline. Colt and Nova seemed to be drawn to each other right away. Kelli made the book flow magically.

I had a hard time with this book

I tried, I really tried to like this book. Unfortunately, the narrator killed it for me; although his voice is pleasant there is no variation between characters who are male and female. I really tried to like it but alas the narration made it hard for me.
