a different twist

a woman looses her job is so lucky her friend knows about a good job for her as a secretary at a rich man's office. Nothing new but yes a little different from most stories in this box.
the characters are well created and the story is good but I feel like I have heard it before with different names and places. there is a little different twist on the story from most others like this one.
the narrator is male and is good but I would like to have female voice for female characters and male voice for male characters.

ok story

I had a hard time getting through the story the male narrator didn't really change his voice between female and male and it read a little slow.

Wow! This book was not as I expected. New author to me. Well written and the reader did an excellent job. Dark and sexy. Just the way I like them.

Short Story!

This is a short and interesting office romance, with a curvy woman. Christie and Maximus are great characters. This was a fun listen, with a good narration.

Good romance

This is a good romance but honestly i was expecting more sensual scenes. This one is heavy on story and it’s good! Just would’ve like more lovey dovey stuff lol

Quick and steamy

My second Kelli Walker book, Darkened Desire is one that has good characters and an interesting story. Christie is not the typical heroine. She is curvy, smart, and is need of a job. She gets one through her best friend, and as she gets to know her boss, Maximus, there is an obvious attraction. Their relationship from there is a slow burn. I enjoyed this short listen. It has a good story line, and a message from Christie that makes you think about "good" men. Maximus is a driven business man and has his ethics admirable. These two are fun to get to know, are easily relatable and there are a few heart melting scenes! Narrated by Jerry Beebe, the story flowed easily. At times his voices were difficult to distinguish, but for the most part, he did a good job and gave an entertaining performance.

This short story by Kelli Walker was okay but didn’t meet my expectations of a steamy alpha male romance. There was no real relationship between the main characters and the rush to a HEA was not believable. Jerry Beebe’s narrating was okay.

Kelli Walker wrote an interesting book. I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review. Please have someone or even your proof read... “No family in the city?” he asked. “No family alive,” I said. His eyes whipped up to me and I froze…Why would a man smile at the fact that my family was dead? Well, my mother. I didn’t give a shit about my father.
Then she says to him…
“If you want me to work with you—if you want me to have any part of your life—you have to always be honest with me,” I said. He turned his head back and continued for the door, opening it and waiting for me to walk through. I sighed through my nose and shook my head, then grabbed my coffee and headed for the exit. One step forward, two steps back.
