I just have to say this is the rare occurrence where I don’t mind the narrators voice at 1x speed.

Great story and fantastic narration. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys fairy tale retellings. Please be mindful of the trigger warnings, because the domestic abuse was a bit much for me.

The story is enjoyable and I’ll be starting the second book (not on audio yet though!)

Potential to be an Amazing Series

I loved that the author tried staying as close to the storyline of the rapunzel, however my only issue was with the FMC every now and again but it was expected as she was young and also inexperienced.

So GOOD - I can’t wait for more!!!

This book was such a good series opener. I loved the dual LOVs and how the author did such a fantastic job pulling all the different puzzle pieces of the plot together. Such a fun new take of Tangled!!! Can’t wait for more!!

A gripping fairytale-like romantasy

This book is so beautiful and reminiscent of Rapunzel in her tower. The narrator completely brought the story to life and made me feel all the emotions from the story. This is excellent.

Captivating

I absolutely devoured this book, the audio made it that much better. Sara did a fantastic job, I have never experienced a better audio performance. She nailed every voice FLAWLESSLY. I listen to most of my books & no one tops Sara! Download asap, you won’t be disappointed.

Lush, atmospheric fantasy with deep emotional connections

The Heir of Sun and Moon is a gorgeously written fantasy, with the right amount of steam. The spice is still brewing by the end of the book. The overall story is a Rapunzel retelling with Rhea as our main charcter. There is a secondary plotline with the princess of the mage kingdom Bahira. But let's start with Rhea.

Rhea was imprisoned by her Uncle after her parents deaths. She has spent 22 years in her tower with very little human interaction. Its absolutely heartbreaking reading through the loneliness and depression she deals with. Its visceral and so human. Her guard and pet fox are her only companions. But she manages to stay positive despite everything thrown at her. With a change of the guard, we meet Flynn. Flynn sends her notes and takes genuine interest in her. Their relationship is so adorable and precious. Seriously the notes he leaves for her has me DYING. He cares for her in such a pure way. However I will admit I was beyond suspicious of him just because of the circumstances around him showing up and the things he talked about or rather held back. Needless to say I am VERY excited to see what the next book holds for them.

Now for Bahira. I absolutely adore her and her devotion to learning everything she can about magic. I thought it was such an interesting take to have a mage born without magic. Shes so strong willed and knows what she wants. I liked that she isnt easily pushed around and advocates for herself. Deep within she longs to have the same connection to magic that everyone else does. Shes spent a life living in everyone's shadow. At the end of the book shes choosing to make the first steps of a new part of her life and I cannot wait to see where it brings her.

Overall the book was incredible. I loved how invested I was in all the charcters by the end of the book. This book is deeply emotional and I cannot wait to see whats next. I listened to this on Audible and Sara (as always) absolutely crushed this. Her narration with fantasy is positively unmatched.

One of my fav fairytale retellings!

I listened to the audiobook as a reread. I love this story so much. It’s a Rapunzel retelling and done soo well!

There are dual storylines both with exciting and interesting characters. Rhea and Flynn are swoon worthy and I just love them soo much!

Exceptional!

The story, 5 stars, every day! The narration, stunning! The range of the character’s voices all coming from one person makes it feel like a multi character narration. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2!
