If you have studied the paranormal very long, you know that there is a strong tie between trauma and hauntings. Often, a person who experienced some terrible incident in their life continues to haunt that same area after they have died - a murder victim can still be seen in the house or next to the road, a man who was wrongfully executed can still be seen wandering the halls of where he was executed.
But, these are all situations in which a person met with trauma at the end of their life - so what about those who lived a life of pain and suffering? Those who had no one to stand up for them and make sure they were treated properly? Those who lived their lives in the walls of a mental asylum - cut off from the world, and subjected to the greatest horrors known to man?
In this book, I am going to take you on a journey through mental asylums. I am going to show you the horrors that have taken place, and the grisly aftermath of those horrors. I am going to show you what it was like for men, women, and children who may or may not have had a mental disorder, and the terrifying things that were done to them in this life.
As you listen to this book, you are going to get a glimpse into the truth - into the lives of men and women whose only crime was that they were different from the rest of the world, and the rest of the world had no tolerance for it. This book is going to show you what you should know about the history of asylums, and those who were mistreated as a result....

Good Listen
I enjoyed this book very much since I have a weird fascination with asylums. The only thing I wish was that it was longer. I believe though that it is a good book to start with on this particular subject.

One quarter of this book is what you hoped for.
The author had some good material but then managed to put together enough additional, but not compelling, story to make a book. I didn't like the Narrator. An old man with a bit of a lisp and odd mannerism how his inflections ended his sentences.
