Sunshine and Scars, Music and Melee, Fear and Family: What You Would Give/Sacrifice For Your Bestie.

The build-up to these two sweeties has been simmering tantalizing the last two books and it was so worth it. With the three books, this is the one that made me literally lol the most, cover my agape, gasping mouth like a cheesy gossip teen in a movie, and actual cry when I learned of their past. This just shows the writing power of Miss Beck and I am now a fan girl after this series.

With Cass being so chill and Skylar…well, adorably not, I was curious how full chapters from their voices would work. It was a very different energy from the other two, but fun and electric in its own way.

I have to give props to Logan Anare for keeping Skylar’s high energy up and also portraying his past and insecurities with grace, respect, hope, emotion, and relatability like the author is brilliant at writing.
Oscar’s raw devotion to his sunshine projected so tenderly it made my heart ache deeply for Cass. I think Mr. Oscar got to really show his range with this one, being the other two leads he played, Reese and Knox, hung out with Cass often in this story. It was a highlight of these characters and made his performance skill set shine even more.

Plus, Knox…Man he stole this one even as a side character. 😂 But I wanted more of my Elton!

The concept of making a perfect boyfriend list and Cass proving he would do everything his sunshine wanted and needed was campy, but sooo Skylar. It was fun. Their bond is beautiful and instead of screaming for them to get together already, you ACHE for them, beg the universe, yelling in your car to see what you have…or maybe that was just me. Ha!

One thing I do deeply enjoy in this series is the rich descriptions of the locations. It’s like each of their homes and the club are their own character breathed to life. I felt I could find my way around and be welcomed. That’s a wonderful talent and way to absorb a reader into the story.

Also, prom! And helping kids! 😭 I teach at a foster home facility so this got me in the feels and awww.

The spice, I’m sure you’re wondering? My score would be 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ this time. There wasn’t as much as in the other two, but what you did get was…well, better have a bucket of water! 🥵 Their style wasn’t what I personally would go for, but it worked for them and fit their characters! Good for you, boys!

Oh! And Max. I wasn’t keen on the idea of adding a new character in the third book when it feels this may be the last one, but he was a loveable doofus. A good friend for Skylar too with his Prom Squad. And I need him with SOMEONE! Please, Miss Beck! One more book! We need the PIE! 🥧
And I just want Butch with someone. lol!

This series has been a real treat I needed and I really miss my XO boys fiercely. Definitely check this one off your sparkling notebook with the comment of amazing.

I enjoyed this whole series. I did enjoy the narration as well. Hope there is a 4th book!

So obnoxiously whiney

Oscar Reyes made Skylar sound like a whiney little baby for 97% of the book. I don't understand why. You can sound feminine and soft without whining. I wish I had read this with my eyes instead.
