Good story, poor execution

I finally broke down and got this because of how popular it seems. It is very directly sexual. Not my cup of tea to just move from “hey, we just met.” To just all sorts of explicit content. The build up is just lacking for me.

Ok storyline…

I liked the overall story. I think reading the book on paper or kindle would have made this one better. I may still continue the series that way but I did not like the narrator at all. Unfortunately that ruined the story for me. It needed to have a male voice in there too. I just felt like it took away from the story.

Loved! Spicy all the way through, drama was on point, and the narrator was Fantastic! I was blushing listening to this.

A fun time

I enjoyed the story, but the plot was a bit anti-climactic and rushed. The multiple descriptive sex scenes were entertaining. I’d recommend it for a light fun read. The performance was delightful!

Cute story

Cute story, love the general plot. A little weird immediately getting sexual, would have loved a slower burn. There was pretty much no build up. Narrator wasn’t my favorite. Used the same voice the entire time.

Good

Good story, would be a lot better with a male narrator for Kyler’s parts. Makes it confusing sometimes to tell whose point of view the chapter is from.

Enjoyable storyline and fun characters

Enjoyed the author’s story and plot - characters were a bit too tame - esp after the voyeur incident - would have enjoyed the spice being turned up a few notches after that point. Would have enjoyed listening to dual actors playing each character.

Great story super fun! I like the dynamics of all the characters of the book.

Kind of all over the place

The narrator wasn’t great. Spoke a little too slowly, like she was trying to be ultra precise. The story needs a ton of editing, to be honest. So much of it was just off pace and poorly developed.
Like the part where the MMC first visited the school. I was so confused about her purpose there. She just decided to go talk to the headmaster and he starts talking about someone named Liam. Me asking my phone: who the heck is Liam?
The FMC is the bodyguard and yet the headmaster is going on about two elementary school students who had a disagreement.
Spoiler alert here: I felt no push and pull, no sense of anticipation between the two main characters. I thought the part at the very beginning when she proves she’s strong enough to do the job- that could have been drawn out so beautifully, like he continues doubting her and then her anger builds and THEN she puts him on the floor. But no, he just says one thing, then she knocks her new boss down and then he’s like, “ok, guess you’re qualified to protect the most important person in my life.” I think a content editor would be great for this book because I love the bodyguard for his kid aspect of the story. Just needs a bit of refinement

Voice drives me nuts

You know how everyone talks about how Kristen Stewart is so monotone in Twilight? That’s how I feel about this voice. I’ve actually listened to a couple other authors with her voice and had the same issue. Just not dynamic enough and the male characters still sound too feminine. I need to take note and not get anymore books she narrates.
