Acerca de esta escucha

A rolling gnome gathers no moss.

The kobolds’ Core has been destroyed. The Grotto is safe once more, and the gnomes are finally beginning to regroup.

But when a greater threat rises, their only hope of survival is to embark upon a monumental exodus, abandoning everything they’ve built and striking out across the surface in search of a new home. As the god of gnomes, Corey must place more faith than ever before in his denizens - and a few unexpected allies.

Driven from their underground realm, the gnomes’ skills and resilience will be tested to their limits by deadly terrain, vicious wildlife and unseen enemies snapping at their heels. If they cannot survive the perils of the journey and reach their new base before time runs out...all will be lost.

Inspired by the god sims such as Black & White, dungeon managers like Dungeon Keeper and civ builders like Age of Empires, Exodus of Gnomes is the second in a new generation of LitRPG and Dungeon Core stories - God Core.

I like the book. The writing is as good as the previous book. It’s hard to describe without spoilers.
Hopefully we’ll get a book 3

This is book 2 of god of gnomes

This series is just ridiculously good. So many fun references - there are like 2 chapters filled with offbrand Pokémon that just had me grinning the whole time.
I loved the mechanics of the first book, and then this one upended everything. In book 1 we focused on God born creatures, then this book sees our God core unable to create any while his gnomes search for their lost ancestral home. instead we focus on the gnomes themselves. somehow, not having access to manna at all really worked for this book.
we also learned more about Corey's previous life as a dark Elf and about the powerful forces maneuvering against Corey. I will probably want to reread this later to better chart who is working with who and which among them are plotting against the others because it got a bit complicated. I can't wait for the next book :)

Road trip!

This book and the previous book were great, as said in my title. I recently relistened to them for the third time because i enjoy them so much. For me these books were a look into litrpg and dungeon core stuff and will always have a certain fondness in my heart. Which is why i'm kind of sad it seems the series is done. I hope some day this tale can be picked back up and continued.

One of my favorites! Worth a listen for sure. Abit of a different twist on dungeon core novels.

Great Characters, Great Story, Great writing^^

Many inconsistencies from book one to book two.
4 missing skelimanders.

and a missed opportunity for Gardoss to be a dungeon core.

but

fun. I finished and enjoyed it.

fun if you can get past the inconveniences.

I really wish there was a 4.5 star option but here we go.

This is a sequel to the book God of Gnomes, a Litrpg (Dungeon) Core novel. now, dungeon is in parenthesis because our main character Corey isn't a Dungeon, but a God Core. Picking up ostensibly from the ending of the last book, Corey is still around, and the poor Gnomes under his care have even more problems.

This book ironically enough, while having several cores in it, many sentient and important to the plot, I would not call this book a Core book. Primarily due to the conceit in the title. It is time for the Exodus, the time for the Gnomes to leave their grotto and to become more in control of their lives. as such our dear friend Corey's powers are limited, For this book it seems gone is the creation of monsters, the importance of points, and the general Litrpg conceits.

Depending on your opinion, it may be good or bad that the Litrpg elements are so heavily toned down, but if you consider this work its own unique thing, it's easier to accept. The issue with that, is that this book, much more than the first, is hinting at an expanded world. The worldbuilding made in this book is gargantuan without being overbearing. We're given insight about certain cultures and such that by not traveling I doubt we could see.

Wheras the first book, both Adventurer and Core-focused was primarily set in an underground series of connecting tunnels, now the story takes flight. From moments inside of the Adventurer's guild, to seedy politics, There's a lot of love.

Still, I myself, while enjoying the world building, kept having the thought in the back of my mind "Wow, I can't wait for them to finish this exodus and settle down into some cool basebuilding." I'm just hoping the next book comes along at pace, as this book didn't exactly scratch the itch I was hoping for. I like having a genre change in a book series, it helps to keep things fresh, sill, this felt a bit early on, and I didn't get what I primarily came here for.

The good news is a next book is almost a certainty, and what I wish to see will seemingly be heavily leaned on. I can appreciate this book for what it is, a link in the story, and a well made one at that. Yet still, I believe I will enjoy the next book quite a bit more.

A Solid Sequal... and Minor Genre Change.
