Wish I had read this 30 years ago...don't wait!

I will listen to this audiobook over and over until the deep wisdom shared by Carolyn takes root. While every sentence resonated with me, I know it will take several listens for the information to coalesce. Do yourself a favor, get started right away so you can begin the practice...lives are changed by this kind of work.

Excellent! Even better than I expected

Positively one of the best books I have read for improving ones life. Carolyn Elliott packs a ton of information into such a short time and she narrates her work with enthusiasm. I have a lot of work to do but feel I have recieved many tools for my journey.

Brilliant. Eye-opening. An absolute classic. This is one of those books that you come across, that change your life forever. In my opinion, EK should be taught in school - it's certainly taught me invaluable lessons that I will eternally hold very close to my heart.

Unique and fresh perspective

Love this perspective on healing. So sick of the manifestation books that refuse to discuss that manifestation is more about releasing THEN you attract. Thanks Carolyn for such a phenomenal book. I highly recommend.

Not sure what to think

Ultimately this book did help me. I am new to shadow work, so this was a good place to start. And it lead me to learn more elsewhere. But in learning more about the practice, I am starting to realize that this is a bit gimmicky. I never “got off” on any of the realizations of my shadow self. The kink aspect comes off as shock value to re-package the basic tenets of shadow work. And there were more than a few cringey moments where she reveals herself as extremely out of touch with those of us in a lower tax bracket. I would recommend this to some, but suggest your tongue be firmly in cheek if you want to take the practice seriously.

Empowering, sexy, fun and radical

I loved listening to this book. Carolyn reads it playfully and proposes some deeply empowering concepts and practices that are confronting yet so liberating. I’ll probably listen to this one several times.

Very useful concepts. well read. good listen overall. The concept of shadow work isn't the easiest to grasp. this explanation was helpful for me.
