Hauntingly beautiful!

This is one of the most perfectly executed dark academia novel! It has creepiness, mystery, secrets, a sexy mmc, a haunted fmc, a dark atmosphere, two different yet deeply disturbing backstories, a few funny side characters, but best of all someone who understands what you hold inside, the unimaginable things floating in your head, just enough for someone to call you crazy or weird or strange. Enough to keep people at bay, but this story accepts the cruelty of the world and turns it beautiful. If you love a good mystery and some kinky scenes, a must read!

Worth the wait!

This was everything I hoped it would be , I couldn’t wait for the release and purchased the physical book as well as the audible , it’s everything you look for in a gothic academia romance , it’s dark, mysterious has characters you can care about a great mystery throughout and a mysterious dark hot MMC. Just wish it would have lasted longer , finished it too quick .

I binged Enigma in one day, and it’s almost as phenomenal as Gothikana! RuNyx is a dark academia queen, crafting a haunting, gothic world at Mortimer University that hooked me instantly. Salem’s quest to unravel her sister’s death, paired with her sizzling rivals-to-lovers chemistry with Caz, is packed with suspense, steam, and secret societies. The prose is poetic, and the story’s intensity kept me glued to my headphones.
Jaclyn Kelso and Aiden Snow’s narration brings Salem and Caz to life, perfectly capturing their passion and tension. I wished for duet-style narration, but their performances were still captivating. Enigma is a must-listen for fans of moody romance and mysteries—just shy of Gothikana’s brilliance but absolutely unmissable!

I really liked the story, the thriller and mystery was really good. And the love story was really good too!

Loved the mystery, missed the spark.

This kept me curious enough to finish, but emotionally? I never quite connected.

Enigma follows Salem as she dives into the mystery of her sister’s death at Mortimer University, only to uncover secrets, danger, and a dark romance along the way. I really liked Salem—she felt grounded and smart, and her friendships were refreshingly genuine (not just background noise like they often are in dark romance). The mystery had potential, though it didn’t shock me much.

Where it stumbled for me was the romance. Salem and Caz’s connection felt underdeveloped—I didn’t feel the shift from tension to forever, and the chemistry just wasn’t there. I wanted more mystery and more intensity in the romance, but both stayed a bit surface-level. The ending wrapped up too cleanly for the gritty vibe the story was building.

That said, I loved the narration—definitely added to the experience.
