Resumen del Editor

An enemy princess. A cursed prince. A kiss of flame.

When artifact-hunting Princess Brielle discovers a rune stone, she unwittingly calls forth a wild dragon bent on destruction. She's ready to slay the beast up until the moment he shifts into a gorgeous man with tortured eyes.

Dorin has no idea what he did wrong, but there is no doubt he is cursed. For the last month every morning he wakes covered in blood with no memory of the night. He fears the worst...and now he's trapped.

Brielle has until dawn to get Dorin out of her father's castle, or heads will roll. Can she outsmart her father's assassins and save the cursed prince? Or will their forbidden love burn them both to the ground?

This book is set in the same world as Enchanting the Elven Mage and Enchanting the Fae Prince, but listeners can start with any book in this series as each have their own HEA.

Dragon shifter, enemies to lovers fantasy romance

Having already read books 1 and 2 in Alisha Klapheke's Kingdoms of Lore series, I have been eagerly waiting to pull book 3, Enchanting the Dragon Lord, from my TBR pile. While this book is the 3rd in a series, Klapheke writes these novels in such a way that readers can enjoy them as standalones.

If you like enemies to lovers, dragon shifters and a beautifully constructed high fantasy world that is loosely based on various fairy tales, then this book is definitely for you! In Enchanting the Dragon Lord, we are introduced to couple, Dorin and Brielle, whose road to happiness is fraught with many obstacles, including their own inner battles and prejudices, especially since they are from the long-standing enemy kingdoms of Balaur and Wylfenden.

Dorin, is an elven prince, heir to the kingdom of Balaur, who finds himself ‘cursed’ with a newly discovered dragon magic that he cannot control. He is broody, serious and bound by a strong sense of honor and duty to the family and people he loves fiercely. Brielle, Princess of Wylfenden, is a fiery spirit who loves adventure and the thrill of discovery. She bows to no one but finds herself trapped to stop the atrocities being committed by her father against those with magic.

Through a series of events, these two would be enemies find their fates inextricably tied as they engage in a battle of fiery wills and increasing and undeniable attraction for each other. While their arguments and flirtation definitely bring some of that dragon heat, the spice factor in this book is mild and so can appeal even to the most minimal of heat seeking readers.

In the end, it was great to see how these two characters, who each brandish a strong inner fire, complement each other and push one another to grow beyond what they even imagine for themselves. Brielle helps Dorin realize that his gift is a blessing with unending possibilities to help his people. Dorin lends his strength to Brielle in overcoming and leaving behind the legacy of hate that her father demands she embrace.

So far, I have read all the books in the series via audiobook and really enjoy the narration that both narrators, Caitlin Kelly and Gary Furlong, bring to the tale. Caitlin in particular shines in this piece and she is someone whose narration I have loved in many other wonderful audiobooks.

If you have not read any of Alisha’s series and like any and all of the below then definitely go and read this book!

Absolutely love this story!

I have read and listened to this story multiple times, and I still love it just as much! This series is one of my favorite comfort reads, and this story is my favorite of the series. I love the characters, and of course adore dragon shifters. I cannot recommend this series enough!

A bit predictable

I dislike having a male and a female narrator you would get very comfortable listening to the one and then they would switch over to the other. The male honestly did an awful job at female voices I didn't even like his male voices, it was very difficult to figure out who he was trying to be because they all sounded the same, it was very distracting I found it very hard to listen to. I won't listen to another one of her books if these 2 narrators are performing it.
