Great take on the Snow Queen

This thoughtful and thoroughly enjoyable retelling of The Snow Queen is one of my favorites. The characters feel very real and are relatable in their struggles. I highly recommend this book. It is adventure, fantasy with a nice serving of clean romance.

The readers do an excellent job of portraying the characters and the audio was an easy listen.

Loved it!

If you are unsure, try it. I couldn’t put it down. The storyteller and narrator, wonderful!

I love all of KM Shea’s books. This audible performance makes the books come alive! I hope the rest of the author’s books come to audible.

Loved it!

This is a beautiful story of forgiveness, love, and redemption. It captures the heartbreak of rejection and the inner longing for acceptance. There are great battles, powerful magic, and a strong undercurrent of good vs. evil.

The love story is sweet. I like how Farrin’s attraction to Rakel is based on the good he sees in her, her mercy and strength of character, and how that goodness stirs his own desire for light.

The story doesn’t have the humor found in other KM Shea books I’ve read, but rather reads like a fairy tale… which I suppose is to be expected given it’s a retelling of one ☺️

There’s no foul language or sex. The romance is very clean with only a few kisses. There is some violence given the battles, but a strong emphasis on the value of life. There are no references to faith or God.

K.M. Shea is one of my favorites!

This was a wonderful series. I love the characters. I wasn’t floored by the reader, however. I am on pins and needles waiting for the Apprentice of Magic audiobooks, which will come out in a few years, after the last book is FINALLY written.
