Resumen del Editor

Art teacher Daniel Benedetto has cystic fibrosis. At thirty-four, he's already outlived his doctor's "expiration date," but that doesn't stop him from giving all he can to his students and his work. When he takes on Caitlin, his landlady's daughter, as a private student, the budding teen painter watches in torment as other people, especially women, treat Daniel like a freak because of his condition. To Caitlin, Daniel is not a disease, not someone to pity or take care of but someone to care for, a friend, and her first real crush. Convinced one of those women is about to hurt him, Caitlin makes one very bad decision.

See for yourself why so many listeners and reviewers said that once begun, they could not put Drawing Breath down.

A lovely story well written

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would, it has some very touching scenes about some very touchy issues. The author pulls you in why writing and outstanding read.

Have you listened to any of Randi Larson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not but she did an outstanding job of narrating.

Who was the most memorable character of Drawing Breath and why?

I would have to say the two main characters but the sister was as well. The author gives them life as she tells a compelling story of young love for an older man. The trials of first love. The heart break of a disease that will kill.

Any additional comments?

This is a beautiful story of friendship, growing pains, of a love first love and how far she will go to right a wrong. It starts out a little slow but the author pulls you into a wonderfully told story that is well written with her realistic characters in a real situations.

You feel like you are right there as Daniel struggles through chronic illness. You feel the pain of his sister as she tries to do the best by and for him. Caitlin is the only one that sees him as he could be, makes him feel like a person not sick or someone who needs taken care of.

The author hits each scene as it needs to be hit. The narrator gives a power emotion to the story with a smooth young voice that makes it feel the story is being told by Caitlin.

I Loved It

Who was your favorite character and why?

Caitlin- She felt things so deeply for a teenager

What does Randi Larson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Very believable for the part of a teenage girl

If you could take any character from Drawing Breath out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Daniel because he made sure he did what made him happy in the time he had left

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the storyline because I think as teenage girls we all formed an attachment to an older male. But Caitlin's attachment was more than that, she truly loved Daniel and it showed in the telling of the story.
