A lot had changed in "The Holy Sky" School during the six weeks that Hadjar Darkhan was away. Everyone who was in the capital at the time became much stronger, thanks to the regular skirmishes along the Imperial road. By the emperor's decree, all the disciples of the Imperial martial arts schools were allowed to visit the infamous and highly coveted Wastelands. "The Holy Sky's" disciples were especially fortunate - they'd been given a two-week head start to find the map leading to Emperor Decater's tomb, as well as the key that would allow them to enter his chambers.

The school erupted into chaos as everyone wanted to fight for the dead emperor's Inheritance. After all, they wouldn't just find artifacts and alchemical solutions in the tomb, but something far more important as well. Decater's tomb also contained the secrets of all his friends, disciples, and followers. Whoever opened the door to the tomb, regardless of their path of cultivation or abilities, would become the strongest cultivator of their generation. But what would happen if the map and key fell into the wrong hands?

Hadjar Darkhan had returned to the school, but there was no time to rest. A new adventure awaited him.

can not wait for the next book. very well worked, kirill klevanski :) hat off for good work. hope it aldi ends with such good books

good stuff

A good story, good characters, and good voice narrator. This series gets better over time.

And the story continues...

Love the book, hate the Cursing. Oh wel, What can you do? Language in the books has gone from ok to pretty bad over 8 books, luckily the characters and story over- come it. But it makes it hand to reccomend to others.
I love the friendships and loyalties, the fighting and still meting it through, lots of times with the help of those friends.
N arator is excellent!

Now on to book nine!

Still as epic as ever!

While i sometimes get tired of the over-explaining. This far in the series makes me want more and more. Can't wait for the next one.

Never Fails to entertain

By book 8 you would think that the story would have grown old but my blood still churns during the battles, relationships and deceit described herein. Even the last minute heroics does fail to lose their luster. Let's get that next one out. I am dieing to see how it will turn out for the brave freedom fighter of the Gods!

enjoyable book

Story progression was good, world building is slow but consistent. Still only has one arc per book, be nice if the book was longer or had more than one arc.

my new favorite of the series

Really enjoying this series. It continues to have a great story line, with unique support characters and an enjoyable path for the MC. I hope that Kevin Collins stays the narrator of this series as he's done such a great job so far. I do wish the opposition characters had a little more variety in the "I'm mad, let's fight" voices. The "lower your voice and yell" voice that's associated with everyone makes it tough in larger fights. It would nice to hear more variety. That said, I'm certain none of us can really understand how difficult narration is and I hope Collins continues to be the narrator of this and many other series.
** I admit I'm doing a copy/paste on this series. I didn't review them when I listened to them but felt these books deserved a review.
