Good Listen

I liked this story. Ivy is far from perfect, but I found her backstory and reasoning behind her choices tragic and compelling. Aiden is a great love interest. I am not really a fan of sports, least of all football, but that didn't detract from my experience. Karly Hutchins' narration is excellent. I loved her various character voices and vocal expressions. This was an overall enjoyable listen, both in story and narration.

Dare You to Hate Me

I wanted something different, and I came across this book not knowing the author or the narrator but thought why not?

I really enjoyed the characters learning Chaos’ struggles and how she is the way she is. How one boy took a chance and befriended her. That friendship becomes a lifeline, and yrs later just when she thought she would never see him again he walks back into her life.

I loved his reaction, how he does what he needs to, to make sure she is safe just like he had been doing all her life.
I just enjoyed the story and the narration. I needed something different and that is exactly what I got.

love the angst!

This was the perfect new adult read full of angst. I was completely wrapped up in Aiden and Ivy. I listened to the audio, and narration conveyed emotion. Dare You To Hate Me gave me all the feels!

Good

This was a new author for me. The story is sweet and has a lot of emotional depth. But for some reason I had a hard time connecting with the main characters. I know they say in multiple places how they aren’t really romantic or good at saying sweet things. But I think that is what caused the story to feel a bit dry for me. I kept hoping for some kind of romantic gesture or profession of love and it just never happened. The story is well written…but a bit too much like real life for it to feel like the escape I was hoping for.
For example Aiden who is the hero of the story is lovable and likable from the very beginning. In this story he is the one who doesn’t have a lot of sexual experience and after their first time together he lets Ivy believe that he waited for her. But in his head the audience hears that it really was more circumstance than it was any kind of emotional attachment to her. And that really took away from the moment for me.

I didn't think I would love it as much as I do

Wow. Just wow..... I don't have any triggers but please check triggers in this book. There are talks of suicide and cutting. I loved the ups and downs of this book. It felt so realistic with how she grow up and what she went through. The mam that loves her and the trauma and personal demons that hold her back. This book as so good.

Heartbreaking Beautiful

Dare You To Hate Me is a Beautiful Childhood Friends to Lovers, Sports Romance about Friendship, Loyalty and facing one's past.. Aiden was Swoony Perfection.. I Adored Ivy and her Perfectly Imperfect, Strong self. Loved how Destiny brought back two people who made each others lives better together & how Aiden Truly showed his Love ❤ The Emotions hit me several times and oh how they tugged on my Heart Strings. I never Cheered two people on as much as I did for these two! This Heartfelt Journey will Definitely be Your Next 5 ⭐ Read.. 

Loved the story but not the narrator.

Wonderful story, but dual narration with a male and a female narrator would’ve been so much better!

Did not like Ivy AT ALL😭

I was beyond frustrated with her. Don’t get me wrong I understand she had a rough life and all but she was so mean to aiden. And aiden was a sweetheart🥹 loved every single thing about him!!! Also the narration is HORRIBLE. Just wasn’t for me, wish I could get the money back.
