If you are going to read this book, I wholeheartedly suggest the audiobook! Crash Test is heavy, emotional, & honestly a little brutal at times, but it also has this softness to it that kept me fully invested. The story structure is so different from anything I’ve picked up recently. Starting with Jacob’s crash & dropping us straight into Travis’ panic?? Immediate emotional damage. Then slowly peeling back their relationship through past & present timelines just made everything hit harder.

Travis completely owned my heart. Quiet, guarded, just trying to do the right thing even when everything is falling apart around him. I wanted to hug him for most of this book. Jacob was more complicated for me. There were definitely moments where I struggled with him, especially post-accident, but I also appreciated how messy & real his growth felt over time.

Their relationship is layered with so much tension, secrecy, & emotion, & I was locked in watching it unfold. When we got those glimpses of how they started, I was smiling like an idiot. The contrast between those moments & everything they go through later was painful in the best way.

The found family in this story really stood out too. They brought some much-needed lightness & humor that balanced out all the heavier moments.

🎧 The audiobook elevated this for me in a big way. Patrick Zeller & Gary Furlong absolutely delivered. The duet narration brought so much depth & emotion to both characters. It made everything feel more immersive & honestly softened some of the tonal shifts in the story.

My only real hang-up was the ending. After everything these two go through, it wrapped up a little too quickly for me. I wanted more time with them rebuilding, more conversations, more groveling if we’re being honest. The emotional payoff was there, I just wish it had been stretched out a bit more.

That said, I flew through this. It’s intense, addictive, & hits that perfect balance of angst & tenderness. If you love tension, complicated characters, & an emotional ride, this one is absolutely worth the listen.

Beautiful story, well written with great character development and an awesome plot. In the first part of the book Travis was kind of an ass hole. When we got to his part of the story it definitely made you like him. A perfect couple Travis and Jacob. The narration of this story is absolutely perfect. it definitely draws you in and makes the book so much better. This story is well worth your time to listen to. 👏❤🔥⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
