Having weathered the storm, Viktor and his group of newfound friends arrive at the rift.

The first thing to do is to survey the new lands and get their hands dirty. Monsters and hostile locals that outnumber them 100-to-1 are just the beginning.

The portal home opened on the seventh day, giving them a chance to go back to Sylmar, the only place that can access the new rift. Going back wasn't such a smart move as both the military, the Green Dragons, and the Apocalypse Association are all very interested in a monopoly over the city.

It wouldn't take much to start a war in the megacity after the number of awakened sky-rocketed, but instilling fear through violence could be the only solution to keep everyone in line. At least, until Viktor and his group managed to beat the tower's guardian and give everyone access so no group has a monopoly on power.

Sylmar was only a small part of the problem as the contestants inside the rift died like flies, giving rise to several powers holding a monopoly over the zones. How far would the game force Viktor to go to secure the survival of his newfound friends and family?

The Towers and Rifts series continues, filled with cultivation, measurable power progression, crunchy stats, loot, immortal gods, intriguing characters, and everything lovers of all progression fantasy, GameLit/LitRPG, xianxia, and xuanhuan expect.

I don't know what is wrong with the 3 people who left written reviews, but ignore the naysayers!
Neil Hellegers does a fantastic job narrating.
And I don't see the MC as a negative womanizer at all. He's put in an awkward position & handles it to the best of his ability. And this is coming from a womans POV.
He is a tad bossy at times, but that's the role he chose by becoming the leader.
And ignore the God complex theories because even though he used to be a God, he has no recollection of that time & only tries to lead his group as best he can.

Ignore the other 3 reviews!!

Main character Victor is such a tool. The love story is emotionally challenged high school drama. Victor will say he wants to help in one min then demand half of everything and will kill everyone and their family if he is slighted. Then he thinks he's doing everyone a favor by doing the slightest thing.

Main character is a tool.

The main character is extremely misogynistic and as the story goes on it gets worse and worse. The main issue comes from the main character being a former god who believes he deserves to be at the top still.

The main character getting upset because a father was holding his kid instead of the mom.

This isn’t a cultivation or issikei or even interesting. It’s a demented man who makes no sense and spends most of his time in low stakes drama between his old wife of literally two centuries and some unstable woman he just met.

And out of all the types of people the author doesn’t know, he doesn’t know women the most. Or else hates women. But doesn’t seem to have a good opinion of men, either. Everyone except the MC is an over the top jerk/drama queen/coward/etc. very typical of a narcissistic author writing personal wish fulfillment.

This is somehow both soapy and boring. I regret the time I spent on this.

What the heck, this was dragging and horrid
