Resumen del Editor

Discover eight radical lessons from 100 of the world’s most inspiring organisations.

Today’s workplaces are broken. Badly broken. With 85 percent of employees disengaged, 23 percent feeling burned out and 37 percent believing that their job makes no useful contribution to society, work as we know it today is simply not working.

The good news? There is a better way. And it's not just theory. It's already practiced in pioneering organisations around the globe. Drawing on Minnaar and De Morree’s visits to 100+ of the world’s most progressive organisations, this audiobook gives direct evidence that you can make work enjoyable and rewarding, while boosting performance and success.

This audiobook is for people who know workplaces could, and should, be better. Whether you’re in the leadership team, a rebel who has been suppressed by corporate dogma or a manager who is trapped in the broken system: This audiobook is for you!

Want to learn how to improve employee engagement? Rethink company culture? How to change your workplace? Get ready to dive into more than 20 examples of the best company cultures. Learn, be inspired, and revolutionise today’s workplaces.

Left something to be desired

I love the topic and had great expectations for this book; maybe that's why I'm now disappointed. The interviews with different company leaders are very insightful, but the information is presented is a rather unstructured manner. Moreover, there seems to be not enough data for the conclusions presented, they're more based on opinion. That seems rather strange, especially when comparisons are made between different layers of traditionally managed companies (of which the authors openly admit have as little experience in as possible) and the progressive companies (which the authors also haven't experienced but are trying to build one now by themselves). Speaking of which, there is a bit too much advertising of their own activity at the end of the book: We live in a connected world; if I wanted to know more about them, I'd google them (which I had already done, in fact, hence I bought the book). I am thinking that a more thorough review of their website and blog would have presented me with more than enough information on the topic and I wouldn't have needed the book as well.

I also want to mention that I was unpleasantly surprised by the choice of narrator: I know the authors are two young men, so I couldn't adjust to having someone with a really deep male voice reading the book till the very end. Call it prejudice if you like, but I found it unfitting. Would have preferred that the authors read the book themselves.

self promotional

This book is basically just a self promotional book of the authors. Too much fluff and too little content.
