Graphic gratuitous violence but good premis
I love monster stories but this author kills off everyone in unnecessary detail. it gets really tiresome. The readers Tobe reminds me of a carnival barker

Fun, but made of B movie plots.
I want to start off by saying this is a good book. Its better than it has any right to be. However, it lacks a lot of the build up for it to be a really great horror. Barely any suspense is built and replaced with gore. There are plot holes, loose threads, and moments when you just want to shake the characters. All that said, if you listen to it, remember those B monster movies, and just want to have fun, this is a great listen.

Really different and entertaining!
This book had surprise after surprise. The narrator was great! Held you on the edge of your seat all the time. Nonstop excitement. There’s a sequel, but apparently not on Audible yet. Waiting for it!!

Snap this up!
This was a fun filled gore fest. Dismemberment, exploding bodies, asshole cop, no escape, small town, and almost no survivors blood bath. Damn what a ride!

“I’ll slap you so hard your whole family will die!”
I LOVED this book! But I also love Mystery Science Theater 3000! This book was so stupid, so unapologetically 90s, horribly dated and filled with derogatory terminology. That said, if you take it for what it is (a campy cult classic) you’re in for a treat! I will be reading more of this series!

Not quite what I was hoping for.
The story is OK. I don't regret my purchase but I do feel it overstayed its welcome. Imagine watch a film like tremors and after the big climatic ending the cast all return to there town thinking its over only to be besieged and then killed off by an entirely new set of creatures. this is fine except these new set of creatures are seemingly unstoppable. for the clickers half of the book I was having a good time. Had it ended there I'd likely have give it a 5 star rating but the second half and ending felt a bit lack luster.

ever heard of a Marty Stu?
great concept but the main character strikes me a something of a self insert from the author. Never a good idea. Also clearly has no hesitation showing his contempt for actual small town Americans. apparently were all backwoods hicks who throw the n word around. worth reading but hard to fit through at parts.
