Resumen del Editor

They thought it was over, but the second wave was only the beginning.

In the aftermath of the Clickers and Dark Ones' siege, and a coup against an insane President, America rebuilds. Change has come, and a better future is promised to all. But promises can be broken, and there may be no future at all. Because deep beneath the ocean, a new terror awaits. Dagon, god of the Dark Ones, is waking up....And if humanity doesn't stop him, then mankind will face extinction.

Trapped on a South Pacific Island, the cast of Clickers and Clickers 2: The Next Wave join forces with a mysterious group of occult agents, to face off against the Clickers, the Dark Ones, Dagon, and an all-new threat: The deadly obsidian Clickers. The stakes have never been higher.

Dagon is rising....And humanity will fall.

Clickers III: Dagon Rising. It's more giant monster carnage, and B-movie fun, as only J. F. Gonzalez and Brian Keene can bring you.

Decent Wrap Up

While I thoroughly enjoyed the H.P Lovecraft tie in to the world, I felt this particular book was just lackluster in general. It has most of the common thematic elements that I so enjoyed in the first two books, the blood and gore, the overwhelming violence and slaughter. The weirdness. But, it simply didn't have any of the desperation or struggle to survive. The impact the first books had. More time was spent trying to get the uninitiated readers to understand just wtf Lovecraft elements were all about, than actual plot progression. This led to an extremely rushed and unsatisfactory ending. Which was far too blase for what had been building througout the series. If you've made it this far in the series then by all means give it a go. Just don't expect too much.

Don't buy this trilogy!

loose ends and plots with absolutely no bearing to this farce of an attempt at a Lovecraftian horror story. Very predictable. If your new to Lovecraft it's a good read.

Just ok

This book was not as good as the first two, it was a struggle to finish.

Okay, but not a fitting sequel.

This one was alright. It continued the story from I and II,l and added to the stakes (a dark god rising to kill everyone rather than just an army of sea critters), but all happened at a much smaller scale that feels off compared to the stakes. It connected well to the broader Keene-verse, but was a little underwhelming overall, especially when you expect a Lovecraftian god to show up. There’s also a noticeable degradation of the writing quality from Keene’s other books, especially the dialog- I’m assuming that that’s because of the collaboration with the other author. This isn’t his best work overall, but it’s worth a listen if you like the Keene-verse, which I do!

good but to quick

story was good had all the elements to make it great yet was missing those things that bind a story/plot together. seemingly it was hastily written but I'm not worried , I have faith the author will do great next time 7 out of 10 story and 9 put of 10 narrator.

It’s not as deep as Dagon but it’s kinda fun 🤷🏽‍♂️

So I like Clickers, but for all the wrong reasons.
It’s not high brow science fi horror and has more ham and cheese than southern lunchbox.
The beauty of Clickers is that its fun.
The Characters lean into their cliches. How the goodfellas guy became the focus of this book I have no idea but I just went with it and it was like watching low budget horror flick… like the authors promised.
It’s a fun , silly semi problematic at times ride that feels like it was written in the late nineties.

Back to the good stuff

Clickers 2 was a little disappointing to me, the scope of the story was too wide. With this book they brought it back down to a better scale and it gave you the same feeling as the first book.

The book spent far too long on backstory.

Honestly, for the first 4 hours not a dang thing happens in the book. Not really. So much of the book is spent on explaining who the characters are, backstory for the lovecraft mythos, backstory for this, characters giving each other their own backstories, hell even the monsters give some backstory. The damn story doesnt get going properly until 4 hours in. I'm serious. this is a book you need to skip. If you havent already, just listen to the first book. What a disdapointment.
