Author’s Note: We got to know Jared in Time for Love, when David and Daisy befriended David’s elusive landlord who’d come to the island seeking refuge after a bad breakup. We saw him again in Meant for Love, when he reconnected with Wharton classmate Jenny Wilks. Listeners were eager to know more about the woman who’d broken Jared’s heart, and they wanted to know what I had in store for him. The more I thought about his story, the more I realized what I needed to do. I hope you’ll enjoy this brief visit with some Gansett Island friends as well as the introduction of a new couple.

Just Okay.

I have enjoyed the books in this series and eagerly downloaded this listen. Even though I was aware that, with a '10.5' series designation, it wouldn't be a full book I was somewhat surprised by its brevity and linear focus. If you're a fan of this series and familiar with Jarred and his situation it's probably worth downloading, otherwise it's best to start somewhere else. One complaint I've had throughout the series is Holly Fielding's narration and unfortunately it's the same is still the case with this listen.

Second chance

Where does Chance for Love rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a sweet story and it's nice to see Jared and his girlfriend reunite.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator lacks emotion. There are significant events yet the good and dramatic events are all delivered the same. It is also confusing to listen to as you can't tell when different characters are introduced.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Short book so easy to listen to in one sitting.

A talented narrator can make or break a book.

If you could sum up Chance for Love in three words, what would they be?

Too Short!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I'm not overly fond of Holly Fielding. I'm not finding the later books to have been produced as well as the earlier ones.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The novella was too short to have any really memorable moments

Any additional comments?

I would liked to have gotten a chance to get to know the characters -- which would have required a longer book, or more about them in earlier books.

What disappointed you about Chance for Love?

Nothing happends and the characters are too plain

What was most disappointing about Marie Force’s story?

I exepected better of her. I was bored.

How could the performance have been better?

Perhaps the performance wasn't that bad. As the story was so disappointing the performance looked bad too.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

the first 30 minutes were ok

Didn’t like

First book by Marie Force I disliked. I loved Jared but really disliked Lizzy. Lizzy was just yucky no other word for this character.
The narrator is bland she has no real excitement in her voice, she doesn’t change in tone very well. She is unfortunately the only narrator for this series and I love the series and bought the whole series before I listened to them and am so disappointed with the narrator.
