Still a great series

I'm kind of amazed with each book in this series. I have to make myself stop listening at some points and go to bed or go to work. I also have to make myself listen to other things in my library, so I only buy one of these at a time. I just can't say enough positive stuff about Nalini Singh's writing, her story and her world. The chemistry between her characters is just all but perfect. It's so real that it's easy to get caught up and just keep listening.

I'm still a bit annoyed by the overuse of 'however'. I really start to notice it by the last 10 chapters, but by them I'm so engrossed that I just shake my head and keep goingg.

I loved the dynamic between Riley and Mercy. The secondary characters as well as the plot besides the mating dance were excellent. This is my favourite of the series so far!

This series is so addictive!

This was a fun book, cementing the Changeling cooperation with the cross-species pairing of Mercy and Riley. I love that they’re equally strong and their conflict of having to choose which pack to align with was real and is relatable to those in interracial relationships.

The action moves fast and the world is expanding with humans playing a bigger role and winged changelings being introduced. I also like the tease for the storylines of the Ghost, Sienna, Tatiana, and others.

This series is so addictive!

Would you listen to Branded by Fire again? Why?

I would. Mercy is one of my favorite females in the series. I was hoping that there would be a story with her as the female lead. She shows that even a strong woman can find love and not be afraid to grab it and hold on to it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Branded by Fire?

When the matting bond snapped into place moments before there was suppose to be a bomb blowing up a building. I enjoyed how Riley described it has them being better than being drunk.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Riley realized that Mercy was his mate. And it just sat there stunned for a long time. It caught him off guard just like it did to Mercy.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Mercy went to the SnowDancer den and was told that Riley had a big heart and she should be careful. Because he didn't expect anyone to do anything special for him while he would do anything for those he loves.

For these two spices that has come to become an alliance with each other and becoming trust worthy of their friendship. The DarkRiver panther leopard and the SnowDancer wolf now with their people and leaders working together have giving their people more better ground. The lieutenant from the SnowDancer and that of the DarkRiver came together to work as team in their recent killings and kidnapping within their cities. Only for them to discovered that it was done by the Human Alliances. This two had a one night stands sexual relationship that they both though will bring them some comfort. But unkwonnly they form a sexual relationship that keeps drawing them back to each other. Their relationship was fighting for doiminant for each other until their animal hreats could not let them continue that. both habe to give in until one completely give in to their love and the bond completes. This love became the best and they were still able to remain with their individual pack. withpout their animal separating them from their first love of pack. their bond was first and then their pack.

Hot Hot Hot!!!

I love the way that Nailini intermingled the Wolf and the cats. Riley and Mercy the powerhouse excitement that they brought to the story is just awesome. Bringing together the two different packs were a great twist to the story line.

Would you listen to Branded by Fire again? Why?

If/ when I decide to re-listen, it will be to the entire series. (I'm the type to power-listen first to find out what happens, then go back and re-listen for the enjoyment factor.) This whole series is so much fun - I'm actually looking forward to starting from the beginning when it's all done.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Branded by Fire?

I liked that this story was between a wolf and a leopard. It added a new twist, but also meant this book had some extra steam since it involved the physical needs of 2 changelings. More hotness? Why yes, please!

Did Angela Dawe do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Meh. It's hard to tell characters apart sometimes, even between the throaty women and the raspy men, but she doesn't make me cringe, so yeah. Asi asi, gracias.

Any additional comments?

This series continues to pay off. I paid for this book ($20 with audible member discount) and feel like I got my money's worth. Here we go book 7!

Great series!!!! This is my favorite series. Each book builds on the overall world while keeping you interested in the individual romances. A few of the book were about secondary characters that I didn’t care about at the beginning and absolutely loved by the end. This review applies to the first 9 books in the series.
