Are you looking for guidance on how to raise and care for chickens of your own? Are you thinking of starting a little backyard homestead? If you're worried about the rising cost and availability of food, especially with all the supply chain issues, then perhaps you should consider raising chickens.
Food is expensive, and it's only going to get worse.
I was just like you not that long ago: depending on the supermarkets for the best eggs, waiting for sales so that buying a chicken for dinner wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. It's a frustrating place to be, especially since the cost of living keeps going up, and buying chickens and fresh eggs is no longer as cheap as it used to be, especially if you are buying organic ones.
Consider me your chicken coop guru.
I'll share my experiences with you so that you can learn from my experiences and use this as your guide to help you figure out just how to make your backyard into a chicken paradise.
In this book, you'll find all sorts of information—from small to big details—about how to make a chicken coop, how to populate it, how to take care of your chickens, how to get the right eggs, etc. I'll take you through each step of the process so that you can learn how to do it right the first time so that you'll be able to see success coming your way in no time at all.
Chicken farming takes time and dedication; I'll make the process simple.
When you are purchasing chicken and eggs from a grocery store, you don't really know what you are buying or giving to your children. Is organic really organic? Are they free-range chickens? Are the eggs fresh? These are all concerns that will be wiped out when you start raising them in your backyard.
You'll be able to guarantee that what you are eating is entirely organic, which is a huge health benefit to everyone and anyone. You'll also know just how fresh the meat and the eggs are because you will have done the work yourself, giving you excellent peace of mind. Lastly, organic meat and eggs simply tastes better. It has more nutrients, is much more filling, is free from potential allergens, and you know what you're putting in your body.
In my book about how to raise backyard chickens, you will learn about these topics and more:
- Eight key benefits of having your own chicken coop
- Four steps to starting your own chicken coop
- What kind of chickens should I get?
- Examining the chicken population
- Reasons to choose adult chickens over baby chicks
- All about eggs
- What to expect from your chicken and her eggs
- Chickens and their nutrition
- What to feed your chickens
- What not to feed your chickens
- How much to feed them
- What kind of food will yield the best eggs
- Food list quick reference guide
- Chicks: from start to finish
- Breeding chicks
- Taking care of chicks
- Six valuable tips and tricks
- Examining the chicken’s growth cycle
- Introducing chickens to the flock
- How to keep your chickens safe from illness, predators, and pests
- Raising fresh meat chickens: what to consider with chickens for meat
- Dealing with chicken waste and cleaning
- Let’s talk money
- Local laws and regulations
- In short, why chickens are awesome!
If you are considering starting your own flock, then you should add my book to your shopping cart now to take the first step on your animal husbandry journey!

Although modern aquaponics is still fairly new, it was used in ancient times. Some of the first examples are thought to be islands where plants raised with water and other materials from the Chinampa canals. The islands, known as Chinampas, were mainly stationary, but some were movable. Also, rice was raised in Thailand and China in paddies, which also contained fish. Other Far Eastern countries also raised fish - swamp eels, regular and crucian carp, and Oriental loach - in rice paddies.
