This book is the third in a series, but like all my books, it can be listened to as a standalone.

These Boys!

Ok I was struggling worse than these boys trying to express in my review that they were Aiden and Jaxon to me, not Blaze and Ajax at all. I fell in love with the true soul of both of them. Mental health is such a real battle, and I appreciated how it was represented here. Aiden might have admitted his need first, but Jaxon needed for some much emotionally as well. So many real young growing up feels here. Harley Chase definitely has the perfect narration voice for these angsty young men!

Blaze n Ajax

Another enjoyable losten for another enjoyable book in this series. There is the right amount of emotion and the performance of these two men that just pulls you in. i enjoyed this book in all formats. the author gives you the angst the emotions and feels but then gives you the growth and love. the narrator brings you in with his voice and talent keeps you in the story.

Audiobook update: I loved listening to Harley Chase narrate this book, which I think may be possibly my fave in the series. His voices for both Ajax & Blaze were distinct and I always knew who was speaking - not only was Ajax given a slightly deeper register, but Blaze's voice had all the attitude I expected from him. The spicy moments were so hot and their more vulnerable moments touched me! Harley narrated the full range of emotions with these MCs - such a wonderful listening experience to go along with a great story!

4.5 I love Courtney Dixon's books and this one is no exception. While I haven't yet read the first two books in this series, I feel like I got a pretty good sense of what was going on with no problems following. I am, however, extra interested in reading Stix & Stone as well as Pippin & Nacho. This is enemies to lovers and Blaze & Ajax definitely start off hating each other big time! One of my fave parts of this book is the epic found family aspect - this band of misfits is 100% there for each other in every possible way. Blaze, though, is basically on the outskirts - mostly part of it because Cueball and just barely tolerated, especially by Ajax. What I love here, though, is that the reason that Ajax tolerates him is because of the family, but at the same time, the reason he hates is in support of another member of the family! These boys are so loyal to one another! Cueball has given Blaze, attention, acceptance, and a home, something he hasn't had for a long time, but desperately wants. This has helped Blaze to start finding his humanity and empathy, though it is a VERY slow process because he was been so badly abused emotionally by the people who were supposed to care for him. Ajax also has severe abandonment issues, but he had Alpha to help him. Beneath his gruff exterior, he ends up becoming something wonderful for Blaze as they connect - at first in a kind of fury, but then getting softer as the book progresses. Both boys have some deep-seated issues, but in the end, they help each other through. Their first kiss was *blazing* hot and they came together with a lot of heat, then with softer emotions. I really loved, too, how Cueball supported Blaze throughout the book and how Alpha and the other boys were also there for Ajax in his time of need. One thing that threw me off occasionally was some of the dialogue - I just didn't always find it believable coming out of these 23/24yo boys' mouths (for example, the word "libido" as well as some explanations, etc). However, the pace itself was perfection - this book flew by and while I had to put it down in the middle because of a super busy work day, the next day I just gobbled it up til the end. My heart broke for what these boys went through in their pasts and yes, I totally had tears....then happy ones too as they both swore forever to each other....love! I'm looking forward to Alpha's book next, but I'm especially looking forward to Cueball's - that boy deserves everything wonderful. Oh - one last thing - the nicknames here were just divine!!!

I almost forgot how much I love Blaze and Ajax,

Harley Chase did an incredible job, just like in his previous work narrating Alpha Rejects, but this one? OMG, I loved it so much. He brought the characters' emotions to life so perfectly.

Harley Chase does and amazing job bringing Blaze and Ajax to life. They each have their own voice and the emotions are so well done for both characters.

This is another amazing Alpha's Rejects story with so much emotion. These two have such an emotional journey and the mental health rep is so well done in this book. I love this series so much.

Another fantastic Alpha’s Rejects audiobook

Blaze and Ajax are precious!!! Both guys have been through some serious things in their lives. Additionally, Blaze is a little bit of a brat and did something that made Ajax hate him. It starts as a true enemies to lovers. However, Blaze realizes that only Ajax can meet his needs in a particular area, and starts to seek him out. Ajax realizes there is more going on than he realizes, and seeks to meet Blaze’s needs. Feelings develop. Then, Ajax begins to struggle with his mental health. Blaze realizes that it’s his turn to be the supportive and helpful one. Together, they grow and learn a lot. They are absolutely wonderful characters!

This was my second time reading this book, although the first as an audiobook. I definitely caught more this time through, especially related to the other characters, and appreciated it even more. As for the audio, Harley Chase does a phenomenal job as always. His inflections, pacing, and voices are so well done. If he narrates it, I will listen!

Amazing

This story is breaking and will pull at emotions. I loved the narrative and story that is expressive and enjoyable to listen too. This story is brought to life when listening and feels like you are watching it happen.

MADE ME FALL FOR BLAZE AND AJAX ALL OVER AGAIN!

This is an emotionally charged listening experience and the narrator did a splendid job. Enjoyed so much!

Simply Fantastic

I absolutely love the Alpha’s Rejects series. There’s always something with the characters or the plot that resonates close to home for me, and this book is no different. I just love all the emotions that a story like this invokes. Hearing it though just amplifies everything and I can’t get enough. Blaze & Ajax’s story is an emotional and raw rollercoaster.

I can’t give enough praise to Harley Chase. Another absolutely phenomenal job at bringing Aiden and Jaxon to life. Yes, they are also known as Blaze and Ajax but after listening to this, they will forever be Aiden and Jaxon. Hearing their story added another layer of depth that I didn’t think was possible.

What an incredible journey!

This is one of my favorite books from Courtney W. Dixon! Enemies to lovers, especially when coupled with mental health rep, is such a great trope and this author has created such a beautiful depiction of both in Blaze and Ajax.

Blaze is such an angry person but it’s difficult not to love him. As we learn more about his back story he becomes so much more than expected. There is a vulnerability to him that is both beautiful and sad and I love how he only shows it to those he cares about deeply.

And then there’s Ajax – a person I was not expecting to like very much but one who completely stole my heart. There is a kindness to him I was not anticipating, even in his struggles he never stopped displaying that to the people in his life.

The mental health representation is so well done in this book! Both Blaze and Ajax are deeply broken and I love how the author does not shy away from that in any way. The attention to detail and research are obvious in every aspect of this book and I am so thankful for that honesty in the representation.

Harley Chase has done a phenomenal job with Blaze & Ajax! I didn’t think I could love this story more but hearing it has given it another facet to enjoy.
