Very Perceptive

This book delivers such delightful insight into human nature, foibles, strengths and weaknesses. The plot line is cleverly drawn, with unexpected twists and turns.
A recommended read. Five stars. It downloaded perfectly as one book.

Modern mothers

This was a story based on a group of mothers and the dramas in their lives related to being accepted in their social group. It began by portraying these women as being social butterflies but did develop a more interesting story line as the realities of their lives unfolded. It tackled issues such as violence in the home, bullying and the rather nasty discrimination of community members who condemned a child in a very public way based on the story of one child. The outcome seemed a bit over dramatic and I found it difficult to empathise with these modern mums but some of the characters were memorable. Perhaps a book for those who are mothers.

Author brings these charactors together so artfully!! She gets into the heads of each characters personality. And she nails school gossip and school parents to a tee.

Most enjoyable

Delightful story with all of the elements: mystery, comedy, suspense, and romance. Nicely structured and topical. The author has captured beautifully the antics of school parents.

Fabulous Read

What made the experience of listening to Big Little Lies the most enjoyable?

It's not often that I find a book that doesn't ignore the reality of gender relationships whilst at the same time crafts complex characters and tells a great story.

What did you like best about this story?

The character development and story made for a real page turner. I also loved the way this writer knew how to write about women as people rather than stereotypes. It was refreshing to have a book that so seamlessly incorporates domestic violence into a dramatic thriller.

I would love for this book to be made into a movie.

Loved it!

I really really enjoyed this book.
First of all it was read very well and this is to me as important as the content of the book. (I cant listen to a great book that is poorly read).

Big Little Lies was a "page turner" for me and the twist in the story did catch me by surprise.
I loved all the inner dialogues of people, their hidden thoughts and feelings, so human. I most appreciated how the story includes the trivial, the funny and the more profound human fears and joys. I am about to purchase another book of the Liane and hope it is as good as this one.

Funny, Sad and Riveting

I laughed and cried and was outraged at and with these characters. Enjoyed as much the second time is listened

A very easy entertaining read

Touches on a lot of themes but didn't delve especially deeply into any of them. Which sounds like a bad review- but I really enjoyed this book. Very light reading without being completely vacuous chic lit which I hate. Recommend for holiday or mid week reading

What made the experience of listening to Big Little Lies the most enjoyable?

The narration by Caroline Lee is lovely to listen to, she narrates all of her books. The story was so well written and kept me waiting to find out what happened at the Trivia Night!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked all of them but for different reasons. I found Jane's story very interesting

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked the scene where Nathan tells Madeline what their daughters website is about! Don't want to say more and spoil it

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had a few giggles about how catty school mums can be. There are some very serious issues that are raised in this book that I didn't see coming, they didn't make me cry but it does make you think.

Another fantastic book from Liane! I have listened to all of her audiobooks and now I am just hungry for the next one. I got through this one so quickly. Every spare moment I was listening to it. It kept me on edge waiting to find out what happened at the trivia night. I was guessing through the book who I thought would be murdered and who did it! I must say that my guesses were wrong so I was surprised at the end.
I didn't think she could top "What Alice Forgot" I absolutely loved that book, but I loved this one just as much.
Now, hurry up and get the next one released please :)

Big Little Lies

Absolutely loved this book for its humour, truth, reality & scariness because the author captured the awfulness of human nature.
Thank God there were saving graces in the lead characters.
Fabulous listening.
