I Love Good Whiskey and J Beckett

This billionaire romance was the perfect break from my typical dark fantasy romance. I’m not one to usually choose a billionaire romance, but this story was just perfect. James and Scarlett‘s love story is a heart melting, swoon worthy, giggling and blushing good time. From the first moment he saw her he was obsessed, but what he didn’t know was that she had been crushing on him since she was a teenager. So when James Beckett CEO of Beckett whiskey needs a fake girlfriend, Scarlett is his choice. But not everything is as it seems with Scarlet. She has a hidden past, one that could be a major dealbreaker for their relationship. I truly enjoyed this book and the narrators, Shawn Masters as James and Avery Caris as Scarlett did an amazing job at bringing these characters and story to life. I look forward to the next installment of the Beckett Brothers series by LA Gallagher.

LA Gallagher, you have my attention! This book has it all! I love a good age gap, alpha male, billionaire romance and this one definitely pushes all the right buttons. James and Scarlett meet under unusual circumstances, but their chemistry is real. Not only protecting her from a precarious situation, he offers her a fake relationship to help his playboy reputation out. But that close proximity leads to more and as things on the outside seem perfect, Scarlett holds a secret that can destroy them. But will it? I love getting to know a family and the Becketts are proving to be a lot of fun. The siblings have the fun banter and at the same time have the support for each other. And the spice, the banter, and the relationship that builds between James and Scarlett was fun. I enjoyed this one!

I think the choice of Avery Caris and Sean Masters were an amazing choice for these two characters. The Irish brogue just adds to the charisma they bring to the table as they bring out all the feelings. I loved this team and loved their performance.

Wreck Me is book #1 in The Beckett Brothers series. This is my first listen by the author and I am now a fan for this series! I mean, the bonus prologue starts off HOTT!!!!🔥 Based in Ireland, the Becketts have a whiskey empire along with some clubs, hotels, restaurants, etc., and I can't wait to hear all their stories. James Beckett is CEO of the family business, a total man-ho, and now the center of a sex scandal. Scarlett Fitzgerald is a student close to achieving her Master's in Finance, but working as a pole dancer to pay tuition. She's smart, young, still holds her V-card, and has caught the obsessive attention of James. He needs to clean up his image with the board, she needs the money, so a fake dating arrangement is the answer. Family secrets, threats from a rival distillery, and a spicy age-gap relationship made this story completely binge-worthy.

The duet narration was total perfection with both casting and performance. Sean Masters and Avery Caris (and Maxine Mitchell cameo) gave us accents for days and spice that kept my ears smoking! Loved, loved, loved this cast. 5/5 stars!

The accents, swoon, story, and spice are so incredible in this book by L.A. Gallagher. I could not put this down. Sean Masters and Avery Caris did a phenomenal job narrating this story. Their accents just made the story that much more intriguing. I was hooked from the first chapter. Do yourself a favor and listen to this one it is so worth It!

♡This was my first read by L.A. Gallagher & I really enjoyed it! I love a good billionaire romance & this read delivered. Slow burns are not my favorite, but I loved the way this slow burn was executed! It was well worth the wait for the spice to pick up, & it kept me engaged with the tension & banter! The ending had my jaw on the floor & I definitely need more of these brothers!

The duet narration for this audiobook was fantastic! Avery & Sean both did a phenomenal job bringing Scarlett & James to life!♡

Great first book and intro to author

I dove head first into this book, and even after reading the blur, there were surprises throughout the entire book. This one was my first by LA Gallagher, and I really enjoyed this book and look forward to hearing more form the Beckett brothers. This book is complex and interesting and I always love a midden identity, in my books. Scarlett’s sweetness and innocence is portrayed so well by Avery Caris, and I will never have enough of Sean Masters. That man could read gibberish and I would still listen happily. There is a family dynamic here that I can’t wait to explore in the rest of this series.

Scarlett just wants to stay in the shadows, but the money she can earn from dancing is needed as she works to finish her degree. On her first night she catches the eye of the last man she thought would ever look at her and the one she cannot get involved with.

Beckett is in trouble with his family and the board. They are tired of the bad press from his playboy ways, so when his father says he will be married by the end of the year, Beckett decides to age matters into his own hands.

Pretending to be in a relationship is easier than either of them thought it would be, and soon those pretend acts of love and intimacy become all too real. So, what happens when Beckett and his family found out who Scarlett really is and the past she has been running from for the last 5 years?

Definitely a 4.5 read

I came for Sean but the first chapters got me hooked. I usually dislike stripper/billionaire romance but this one was really good. Definitely exited for whats next. Duet narration?? YES PLEASE.

LA Gallagher is a new to me author. Wreck Me is the first book in her Beckett Brothers series. I had the pleasure to listen to parts of book 3 being narrated and knew I needed to read the first book. So I read the kindle version before I even got the ALC and I flew through it!

I love James and Scarlett and I love their story. Billionaire romances are usually not my cup of tea, but there was something about this book that was like a drug!

Sean Masters and Avery Caris did a masterful job at the accents in this book. They are both pretty high up in my rankings of narrators and this book helped them get higher. Fantastic work was done by both narrators!!

I can’t wait to listen/read the rest of this series.

Great story, great narration

Enjoyed the narration and the story. It’s definitely one of the better paced audiobooks that I’ve listened to in the last year. it was fun, sexy, flirty, with a touch of suspense. Spice was solid.

Scarlet is a dancer at a "gentleman 's club" and catches James' eye. He is instantly intrigued by Scarlet and is determined to be around her. He proposes a fake dating deal to get the board off his back in return the money will help pay for her education.

This is a dark mafia romance between two opposites. I've been itching for a good mafia romance, and this scratched that itch. The spice was good.

Audiobook is narrated in duet by Avery Caris and Sean Masters. They are excellent narrators and were great as Scarlett and James.
