A single mom struggling to raise her rebellious son finds unexpected support in a kind-hearted cowboy in this spicy romance from the author of Seeing Red and Change of Hart.

She’s afraid she’s not enough. He’ll make damn sure she knows she is.

Single mom Whitney Hart is, quite simply, overwhelmed. She’s struggling to raise her ten-year-old son, Jonas. Her ex-boyfriend only seems to come around and help take care of his son when he’s single and hoping to get back together. With Jonas acting out more than ever, Whit realizes she needs help keeping an eye on him over summer vacation.

Enter Colt, a fun-loving cowboy who is tasked with giving Jonas work to do around Wells Ranch to keep him busy. In Colt, Jonas finds a mentor and male role model for the first time in his life. And in Jonas, Colt discovers a friendship that brings a new kind of joy into his life.

Colt and Whit slowly develop a friendship of their own through a shared concern for Jonas, and over the course of the summer, it begins to spark into something more. The attraction and chemistry between them are hard to ignore, but Whit’s insecurities and hesitancy to trust men cause her to pull away.

As miscommunications give way to understanding, the two will discover that sometimes you have to first be broken before you can become whole, and that there’s no one way to create a family.

At Whit's End by Bailey Hannah is the latest in her Wells Ranch series and it absolutely, positively does not disappoint.

Whit Hart has her hands full with her ten year old son Jonas and her constant worry that he's going to be expelled for drawing body parts on everything and anything, his attitude that just stinks, a baby daddy that isn't around, breaks promises to Jonas and is generally as worthless as he is useless. Colt Campbell is a cowboy on the Wells Ranch and he started out helping his friend, Denver, take charge of Jonas at the ranch where he's been sent to stay out of trouble when Whit is at work.

Colt genuinely likes Jonas and is happy to be a mentor to him and try and steer him on the right path, as he can relate to the absentee father and feelings that go along with it. As Colt and Whit meet and he starts hanging around both Jonas and Whit, they develop feelings for each other and the story goes from there - no spoilers here.

Bailey Hannah drew me in from the beginning. Jonas, while being a little terror, is hilarious and is frustratingly loveable in his acting out. Whit is just trying to make it through the day as a single mom in a small town where gossip and mean girls are always around, and Colt - oh, Colt! He is just perfect for Whit and Jonas. He cares about Jonas, is head over heels for Whit, and will do whatever he needs to do to keep both of them safe.

Ms. Hannah writes characters that are relatable to everyone, endearing, and who work for that happily ever after, are good friends, family members, and just deserve their happily ever after.

Stella Hart and Teddy Hamilton embody Whit and Colt and deliver stellar performances. They are absolutley believable as the characters and bring Ms. Hannah's words to life and you fall into the story. I started this as soon as it hit my queue and didn't stop listening until I finished it, about half an hour ago. Yes, it's that good.

I never knew I needed cowboy romance until I read the first in this series, and I can't imagine these main and secondary characters not being a part of my go-to reads when I need something to make me happy. Bailey Hannah is a happiness creator. The end. :)

This is probably the best book in this series. The way that Whit feels so alone with raising her son since his dad is not responsible leaves her feeling like she is failing as a mother. When she sends him to the ranch to keep him out of trouble she finds love and a man who loves her son like his own.

Amazingly Beautiful

I don't know how she does it, but Bailey makes me fall harder and more in love with this ranch, these characters and this world with each installment of this series. Colt and Whit have my ENTIRE heart. Colt Campbell can come and wave all of his green flags at me any time because that man is everything any cowboy loving girlie could ever want. I thought Denny had stolen my heart...then Colt rides in with his "discount Riley Green" 'stache, inappropriate graphic tees, insane likeability, charm and good boy attitude and completely changed the game. This man's thoughtfulness, dependability, humor and heart have me total gone for him. The man has her in his phone as "future wife" from the beginning for sobbing out loud! Who wouldn't be crawling at his feet!? MAMA!? HE USES THE NICKNAME MAMA! I was a MESS from the first drop of that little gem. My #1 kryptonite, it gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I could go on and on about him and his sweet, sweet heart. Your honor, I love him.

Whit, I am literally just as obsessed with you as I am with Colt. Real, raw, RELATABLE, Whit Hart is the epitome of tough cookie. Having Jonas at such a young age in a small town where she is constantly listening for the gossip and bad mouthing has worn our poor girl down. So focused on being a good mom, Whit has allowed her wants and needs to become last priority while trying to do right by Jonas. When Jonas starts becoming troublesome and more of a handful than she is prepared for, my heart just ached for her. Her laundry room breakdowns were so valid, I felt so deeply for her. She was most incredibly deserving of someone who worships her the way that Colt did and I was THRILLED to see her allow herself true happiness. (Even when I wanted to THROTTLE Jonas, which was quite frequently, LOL). All in all, there is a reason why this series is one of my top tier cowboy romances, and it's all because of Bailey's incredible writing. I cannot rave enough about her and these cowboys. With the snippets we got of Jackson and Kate in this book I just know we are heading to an emotional and incredible ending to this series. I also have a lot of theories about where we are heading after Wells Ranch concludes, I guess we will have to just wait and see if I am right.

15/5 stars! Colt Campbell is the goofball of my dreams!

"You're the most gorgeous woman here and somehow that is the least interesting thing about you."

I listened to this on audiobook and the narrators did such a great job. I honestly don't think there is anything Teddy Hamilton can't do well while narrating. And Stella Hunter nailed it. I think they gave all the different personalities and characters the perfect performance.

This book has one of my favorite meet-cutes. I love how funny and awkward it was. I loved that Colt called Whit 'mama'. I didn't know if I would like that nickname, but it fit so well and just worked. Having Whit's contact in his phone as future wife was chef's kiss adorable. I love how much of a simp Colt was for her. This wasn't a slow burn, but I did feel like we got a sweet and swoony build up to the relationship.

Colt and Jonas becoming buddies was a highlight. I also appreciate when the kid in the story isn't a perfect cute angel for the entirety of the story. Jonas was funny and bratty and pretty normal for a boy. Whit's struggle to do and be all her herself and Jonas felt real and gave her great depth. All the family dynamics were fun and as always it's a great time to see the characters from past books hea. I still have a soft spot for Red and his little family.

While this book had heart and was also very funny(seriously, I was giggling so much while listening) the spice was SPICING! I mean, Whit had him barking like a dog, begging, getting tied up, 'fixing her dryer', being a good boy... most of the time they were sneaking around too, so that added into the fun.

Was there a tiny 3rd act breakup? Yes. Did I hate it? No. I liked where it took both mcs. And the getting back together and the hea was so worth it. That epilogue...awww... it was just so perfect and I could have listened to a nother hour or so of this love story.
