Where the System demands obedience, Dean chooses rebellion.

The System is expanding its reach, consuming countless worlds as it does. Those who do not die are converted into adventurers—thralls who feed its lust for endless violence and conquest.

During a chance encounter with one of the System’s agents, Dean Williams is Activated, becoming one of the few on Earth with access to magic. Enhanced far beyond normal adventurers, his mission is simple:

Complete quests. Earn rewards. Gain power.

But power isn’t enough.

In giving Dean access to its secrets, it made a weapon no one is prepared for. Abandoning the safe path, Dean will wage war against fate itself.

He will become the Apocalypse BREAKER.

Apocalypse BREAKER is a collaboration between Aaron Renfroe and Sean Oswald, fusing their overlapping and distinct styles to create a fast-paced, over-the-top, apocalyptic, LitRPG epic.

Fans of the series should expect a powerful main character, vast worlds to explore, intense combat, and fun world building. As the story evolves, expect team and base building, along with hints of politics and maneuvering that spans vast alien civilizations. You know, the good stuff.

When Dean gets dragged out of his bed for a last minute courier delivery to a secret government facility, little did he know his life would never be the same. Thrust into circumstances beyond his control, he learns the truth. The System is here, and it’s not our friend. Learning to balance newfound powers, situations, people, not to mention lifelong anger issues, Dean moves from one headache to another, (and not all of them are his migraines.)

Apocalypse BREAKER is the start of a great adventure, with a protagonist that just won’t quit and some very well developed supporting characters. I’m eager for book 2, and excited to see where this series takes me!

Read this book on Kindle and had to get it once it came out on Audible 😁

Apocalyptic System Invasion?? Not on Dean’s watch!

I enjoyed the story but the narrators were not great. There were repeated mispronunciations of words throughout the book, which were very distracting.

Great Story, shame about the narrators

Is a sea of cookie cutter like LitRPG’s this is a breath of fresh air and was a quick and easy listen. Going to Patreon right after this to get access to the next book because i don’t want to wait a month, even though I prefer to read and listen at the same time!

Unique and action packed!

Holy Effing Jebus!!!… How do you get paid to narrate audiobooks when you consistently mispronounce every single word that anyone older than 9-years-old uses fairly regularly?!!

Seriously, if you don’t know a word then look it up. You’re trying to do this professionally, don’t just hooked-on-phonics your way through it and hope that no one will notice. Honestly, we’re not talking about obscure, English-nerd vocabulary here.

The rest of the narration was a little clunky, but at least it didn’t interfere too much with immersion. By the end the mispronunciations, on the other hand, totally did.

Still this was a fun and fairly engaging System Apocalypse story. It’s worth the credit if you’re a fan of this genre, and it’s definitely better than most of the 2nd-tier Gamelit that is clogging up the Audible recommendations cue.

A good book with mostly ok narration, except…

This is a very refreshing take on a genre that could easily get stale very quickly. I like that the system encourages thinking outside the box and rewards cleverness even if it’s occasionally to its own detriment. Fun plot twist, the MC starts out low-key sociopathic and the system actually helps him temper that.

This is a fun book yet I can’t help but feel is working up to something much bigger, and I’m excited to see where this series goes.

I wasn't a fan of the MC and how he interacts with mana, or how the story is centralized over how Earth military are resisting the evil multiversal system and how all system people are just brainwashed slaves.
as a story/audiobook it is well done. so I can't dock it in the review, but it's definitely not my thing.

This is definitely well written

I made it 13 chapters before I couldn't listen anymore. I liked the story but the foul language ruins it. guess I won't be following this series. good luck.

the F bombs in this story finally got to me.

honestly the first half until he goes into the second event and the analyst joins him, was really good and entertaining but after that I just found myself skipping a lot of chapters and honestly I didn't lose any of the story because of the battle reports and updates on inventory and skills.

entertaining

It’s been happening in several books I’ve listened to lately. For some reason the narrators can not read, if you’re going to narrate a book have more than a fifth grade reading level. The only reason I gave it a chance is because of Oswald. The story was good, the system kind of interesting, and the action engaging. My only complaint is if you’re going to do an audiobook make sure the people reading it can do your hard work justice.

It’s ok

man. something about this book pisses me off. . . . cant tell wether its the main character that spends pages naval gazing before making a damn choice. . . or the story that once we get to the cool military base cuts to feels like a side quest. . . I don't know. not my jam.

just so. . . . . boring.
