The storyline

The story is great but the listing of stats and skill is a little much with the robot like voice.

Overall the book well done with only a couple minor inconsistencies and personal dislike. However my main gripe is how well the story is written at the start, but by the time our main character leaves the starting area much of her dialogue consists of f-bombs. I enjoy some cursing, but when its used suddenly every few paragraphs (especially during battle) it really just feels lazy or as if a teen wrote this. Equally the villain's have a bad "Let me tell you all our secrets while we fight" like a bad anime. Otherwise the narrator was good and the story alright.

As a fan of both authors I was surprised to get this book for free when it was released . The book starts off a little different and I am sure it was me adjusting to the narrator. The book builds up from slow to strong and was a fluid listen. No harem and looking forward to the next book!

Training montage with no world building

The voice performance is great and the character concept is fun, but there is no story here. There is a vague big bad group threatening the generic kingdom and maybe the world, but this whole book is a series of fights where you never doubt the main character is going to win. She doesn't interact with the world beyond fighting and mildy caring about some side characters. Between the endless stat reads and fights with no stakes, I can't say I'd recommend this story.

The beginning through the dungeon is pretty good and the final hour and a half is also pretty interesting. Having listened to the whole thing I'll probably at least check out the next book.

Play by play narrative

You enter a world that is designed with video game level ups instead of our human skill growth. That concept is interesting, but when 85 percent of the book is "you leveled up, stat points have increased, etc" and 15% is basic storyline with no interesting or long lasting side characters. the whole point of the book storyline is in the last 2 chapters and epilogue.

It has the potential to be a good series but the story has to be the main focus in book two. and I'm not sure if it will loss to many fans withto much world building in book 1

Tower climbing is boring!!!

I love the characters. But the older style number rants are too much. And then the tower climbing at the end could be cut entirely and you’d lose nothing. Even at 3x speed I was bored out of my mind.
