Good story, but..

The story is enjoyable. But it needed some proof reading and editing. “He sent me another bolt of dark energy at me” is jarring to hear and can really ruin intense moments. It’s a great story. But it definitely has some issues.

Marvin Knight Knocked it out of the Park

How he somehow made this even better than the first 3 I'll never know. I'm normally not a fan of the "tournament arc" but this was fantastic! My only gripe is book 5 isn't available yet.

Amazing story

Story fun interesting and a solid build on the previous good character. Story development and great fighting scenarios. And thanks, this book was a little bit more slower paste, but it aint tracked from it. And can't wait for the next book in the series..

It was worth the wait for the release of the audiobook. can't get enough of the story.

BOOK 5 WHEN?!?

author does an incredible job of avoiding some of the annoying tropes other authors constantly recycle.

also Jessica threet as a narrator is an instant purchase for me at this point, her various voices and inflections are phenomenal, truly talented

Outstanding work

Marvin's writing was exemplary in this one, the voice actors were good, and I'm desperately hoping that the series continues in audiobook form.

why

I get it that the author trying to make the women more reasonable especially in the sex scenes with the size but come on they're Amazon death by snu snu!

Even better than the previous books

These are fantastic. All the books have been a nice long listen, and each one gets better. This installment in particular really opened up the world while still bringing the action and occasional spice. One mark of a great book to me is when I finish an audio version then don't wait and go read the next book even before the audio is released. I'm doing that with this one.

The bragging got out of hand to be the resume ofit

This story turned into a low quality powerfantasy.

MC brags 90% of time and pull things out of ass that were never mentioned before.

EG: The mc gets a spell, spends the entire rest of the day shopping, sleep, go to a test and in said test use a modified version of the spell that he "trained before"... when?

It started to read like a low quality wuxia where the author is aware of his ass pull and try to pass everything as "he expected it and prepared"... instead of actually showing him preparing and training for it, like the author did in the first book.

And instead we have a powerfantasy that nothing is ever planned and the author creates things out of thin war to make the MC look "cool".
