From the writer of The Gorge and The Black Phone, C. Robert Cargill returns to the post-apocalyptic world of Zero Day and Sea of Rust in an all-new novella dealing set amid the fallout of a brutal war between robots and humans.

It is three years since the war between humans and robots began and the OWIs (the One World Intelligences) have humanity on the ropes. But humankind is not yet ready to go quietly into the night. Instead, they have partnered with many of the last remaining freebots in a fabled city beyond the reaches of war: Confederation.

Nanny, an otherwise nameless nannybot—no home nor child to call their own—wearily wanders the war-torn wastes with only one thing on their mind: find Confederation. Because if you find Confederation, you find peace.

Of course, Confederation is as much a fireside folk tale as it is a reality.

Though it may exist, it by no means is a place of peace and acceptance. Though bot and human live together under the same roof, that doesn’t mean they trust one another. Has Nanny arrived in time to save Confederation from itself or rather, just to witness its last days?

I've read the previous 2 books..this is the 1st Audio book ive ever listened to..besides growing up in the early 90's,with a Teddy Ruxpin lol.I will say,I listened to this while working on my house,so I was able to get through it in less the 3 days, the actual books on the other hand, normally take me weeks.Im not an avid reader, and I take my time, imagining the scenes in my head, sometimes reading something several times..to get a good picture.Day Zero was the 1st book I had read front to back, since I was a kid..and it just stuck with me.C.Robert Cargill, has an awesome mind..alot like mine. The voice from the reader took a little getting used to,but being my 1st Audible..im sure it won't be the last time I think that.

Awesome Author..amazing stories

Pre-ordered this book and absolutely loved it. Wish it was longer. It is sad but well worth the listen

I enjoyed the 1st in the series and 2nd was best, this is a continuation of the 1st but I found the story to end a little abruptly

He’s back!

I never really leave reviews, and I enjoyed the other stories, but this one is tripe. the plot is recycled, slightly modified and reads like a short draft for a tv pilot. it wasn't so badthat I couldn't finish it, but I did skip over the boilerplate 'im not saying Christians suck, but..' and 'i'm not saying Christians are stupid, but'. and of course no such effort would be complete without a complimentary dose of 'capitalism sucks'.
I thought that people had learned that if you willfully insult people who consume your product, you probably won't get far. guess not. maybe that's why this ended up on audible instead of as the next big Netflix show?
