It takes me back to high adventure

I really felt like I was back in the Napoleonic sailing era - in the World of Nelson, Hornblower and Aubrey! This unique take on a popular theme, with a fierce young woman captain is really interesting and adds a fresh new perspective. Humor, action and intrigue reminiscent of O'Brian and Lambdin.

Philip Battley does an outstanding job of bringing this world to life. I highly recommend this book.

Surprisingly great sea story

I listened to first book in this Katherine Cook series with complete skepticism… but the sea story is so good I immediately launched into this second installment… and throughly enjoyed it. The premise/heroine is difficult to reconcile but the nautical accuracy is spot on. Great adventure during the great age of sail.

Great writing, great story. Narrator spot on. Look forward to more. Author knows his ships and naval terms initmately and brings the chacters to life...

Good for the genre

Nica story. Well read. Will look fwd to another. Feels like I am ruuning out of these. Some are good but narration lacks.
