Turns out I was right about the technology. And about how angry they’d be. But the way they look...that’s more terrifying than even I could have imagined.

They look exactly like us.

Good story

The writer did a really good job communicating the emotions that narrator was dealing with.

Earth at war: 1st to fight

A good space yarn with near modern warfare stories sprinkled in. Preformer don't exclaim with anger the WTF statement and then follow that with "he said in aw." Still I love the performance.

What a fun ride!

I don’t normally do full reviews but I really liked this book. Was it kinda goofy at times? Yes. But there was also tragedy. That’s life. I guess when you read or listen to book you can’t put down it means you enjoyed it. And isn’t that why we read books?
Scott Aiello was magnificent!

Top 5 Sci-fi authors

I’ll add Rick Partlow to the list of top 5 Sci-fi authors. Think Andrew Weir, Craig Alanson or Jay Allan. Action with lots of good humor. Can’t wait to read the other books.

give it a try, performance was fantastic.

narrator get a great job with characters. well, others might have enjoyed jumping back and forth between memories and actual events, I struggled with it to follow the story correctly.

This is the first time I listened to anything from this author, I received a free code so decided to see if it was worth the time, it was! And if there is a sequel I wouldn't mind using a credit to purchase it. Actually, I'm looking for something else to try from this author. I loved that our hero is a sci-fi author who becomes party of his own story. The story was fast moving, interesting and humorous. The characters were believable and developed enough to support the story. Scott Aiello it's one of my favorite narrators and he didn't disappoint. Sooooo, next? Plz

This author has never let me down... except that one time he served chili with mushrooms. Seriously though, love his work.

With a writing style Reminiscent of butcher Anspach and Cole, Partlow is now one of my fav’s. And He was smart enough to pick the Great Scott Aeilo to bring his reality to life

Great Military Science Fiction plus a bonus book

If you like military banter, and an author who understands how the military operates, and you like Sci-fi, then you should get this audiobook. Scott Aiello is one of the best voice actors in my opinion. He makes cool characters sound cooler.
Upon being introduced to new military technology, humans put their own spin on weapons to help a technologically advanced, but peaceful species defend themselves against a brutal opponent. The included bonus book is just as good as the main story, and adds a lot more background to the main character.
